why does Chewy ship a bucket of salt in a box? seems like it would be safer if they just slapped a shipping lable on the bucket, they shift around inside the box and the shippers cant see what is in there banging against stuff. and about every 4th bucket shows up cracked and leaking. their customer service is great and they always send another one but seems like a waste.

Keep doing it. Free salt on your end.
I got a couple of hang on back filters this way. little cracks glue worked on great but wasnt paying for a cracked new one. Also they never have you send stuff back if defective or broken

Some salt brands comes in box and some in bucket. I switched to Red Sea blue bucket, but I bought a 200g in the bag, which is same price as the 175g. Bag is so thick. I prefer the bag. I put it in my salt bucket when I get them

I use reefcrystals and would much prefer the 200gal box but, the most of the time the bucket is considerably cheaper per gallon, which seems crazy, bucket has to cost more than some bags and a cardboard box, but it is what it is and i try to get my salt as cheap as i can.

I also ordered 4 tangs. Babies. Added to a 20g long with new salt water mix heater etc... Anyway they broke out in what I think is ich and didn't make it. I did freshwater dip prior to entering qt. I dosed metroplex. It hurts.

Have you tried Safety Stop? It's a two part dip of Methelyne Blue and then Methelyne Green. I do it before any fish went into the Quarantine tank and never had losses.

Mind you I don't have tangs which are much more difficult to get through quarantine, but I do like that dip and have it on hand at any given time. I heard ruby rally pro is good to have on hand too.
