My top ledge is pretty much over crowded now. Not much room for any more Acro’s. Guess I need to look lower in the tank for new ideas. Got plenty of Zoa’s. Got a hammer, Favia, some Monti’s, some Stylocoeniella and a Platygyra. The thing I don’t have and think I might like is a Torch. Are they hard to care for? The area I have left would be close to the bottom. There are areas down there where the PAR is around 200, but mostly 80-150. What are the requirement for a Torch?
I've got a couple in my tanks, and they've been pretty easy for me at least. Got them in the very bottom of my tank in a low to moderate flow, just enough to keep the polyps waving in current

Found this from a Google search. Source is ReefAdvisor. Ironically the PAR listed is exactly what you have.

It is the amount of light that penetrates the aquarium water, which is important for photosynthetic corals, like your torch. A PAR range between 80 and 150 is recommended, however, some torch corals like the Aussie Gold prefer a higher PAR range (150-250).

All of mine are in 80-150 PAR and seem happy. The ones on magnets are from last sale, the ones on the rocks have been in the tank 6-10 months. The pinkish one with green mouth is an aussie at 150. Havent noticed a difference in the health of the ones at 80 vs. the ones at 150.

Well I just moved all the Acros to the sand bed until this weekend. My Acro murdering Damsel(s) did this to my Creature Milli . I really want to go spear fishing about now. Argghhh…:confounded-face::crying-face::confounded-face:

Was the damsel picking at the polyps?
Yep. Saw it in its act of crime. The Damsel that has the other side as its territory did the same before as well. I hope I can use the middle the tank as it’s the clowns domain and the Dottyback hangs in the caves there.

Package arrived well pack as always! Acros all had PE in the bag and torches were tentacles out. No pests during dip and inspection as usual. Had to dip in batches on this one! Everyone starts of with their first coral to break the ice and then says...

Thanks to all you fun shenanigan having folks in the thread..yall make it a blast to hang!
Great pack of corals!
I did what you said you do about using the water from the bags to make the dip. Not sure why I never did that before. A lot less water to replace this way.

Which of your new acros takes the cake?
Bubble Bobble?

All it looks like I’m gonna have to tear apart my tank so I can capture my Damsels. Both have shown they will eat Acro happily. At least 3 of them have been eaten at least part way. I moved them last night to middle area sand bed which is clown territory but the damage has been done. Not looking forward to this at all. Tomorrow since I have work all day until 11pm today.

Nice! The internet does come in handy for this hobby for sure. I've always felt that dipping stresses the coral enough so why not dip in its own water..which could be a no no to someone..who knows. Favorites is a tough one. I got 4 scooby doos with 2 of them for gifts. My favorite underrated SBB acro for sure. Shane and Ralph threw me a freebie of Sugar Daddy, red octane and an unknown which I haven't bought before. I'm glad I got them..they surprised me when I put them in the tank..beautiful color. After you @ryshark told me about the blood moon and I have seen @adsf430 mention it, I grabbed one. I should have grabbed one sooner! Very nice color...thank you for the suggestion. The bubble bobble, deadly catch, voltron and pink kitty look fantastic right out the box! Really looking forward to the white walkers coloring up and I know what the Tasty taffy does in my tank and that's why I bought more! The pink mango is another great one..looks like a darker version of Bubblegum which is one of my favorites. The ring pops are already nicely colored and I expect they will be stand outs in the next month or two. Cheshire Cat mini colony already has some interesting colors (light pinks also) that I feel are going to be wild in a short time. I also know what the tiger does in my tank and the pics on the sale don't show what it becomes..it's a banger. I've had
Plenty of SBB acros that have changed appearance in my tank and always for the better..the surprises always impress me the most. Anyways, sorry about the long answer but it's a question with varying answers.

Great. I assume I need to find a spot that is away from the Goni‘s and Hammer. Don’t want to start a war in the tank. Might be hard to find a low/medium flow spot because I’ve got the them in those areas. The bottom left part of the tank is my Zoa garden, so that might work. Do they need to be spot fed? My nitrate have always been low, running about 8.0 - 10.0.

Try a trap? Bottle Trap with brine shrimp or something?

I would shoot for more medium flow. I don't spot feed mine. I've had it for about 4 months or so and it's gone from 2 heads to 4.
