I might have unknowingly saved myself by scheduling a bunch of valentines day date stuff on Sunday a while back without remembering the sale lol

Got a question for ya'll. How can I encourage better polip extensions on my goni's. I get them to extend some but wonder what I need to do to get better?

Interested to hear the response by everyone! Low flow seems to be the trick for me, though people could also say nutrients which is abundant in my tank lol

Ok, so from the sounds of it I'm close, but might need to find a different spot in the tank with lower flow. Currently have them in the bottom 4-ish inches of my 30 gal bow front but my 2k maxspect might be producing to much reverse flow for them. Ok thank you

I have one Goni which happens to be a SBB Carebear. Once I moved it to the back corner of the tank with lower flow (and lower par) the polyps started extending longer.

Agree with the lower par for the care bear. Mine likes to be under a overhang. Other ones do fine in higher par for me. I dose Nanno phyto I culture daily, I think that helps with extension.

Stumbled across this one. First pic was October 18th. Doesn't really show how small it was from the top shot but it's done well and colored up nicely so far. This is my favorite thing to do with coral, especially acros. We see the tanks everyday so it's easy to forget the changes they go through.

Mine was fine in high flow too, but the polyp extension is longer in low flow. The main reason I moved it was because my Hologram Hammer was getting too big.
Same. Mine started in dead center sandbed for me with about 150, but is off center now under a slight overhang and has better extension. I want to gradually move it back to center. Flow wise, it is still getting a good amount and does fine.
