I don't have a black widow nem, but I did add a nem a few months ago and it is staying in the acclimation box. I have the rim lowered so the clowns can swim in and out. The nem only wandered out once, but I put him back in and he hasn't left since. Luckily, it was sitting on my mag float when it wandered out, which I leave at the back left of the tank by the box it is in, so I just gently took the mag float and put it back into the acclimation box.
