See, I'm the opposite. The dungeon formula is repetitive and played out, IMO. I would argue that BOTW had more puzzles than any other Zelda game, but they were all spread out. All a dungeon is is a series of those type puzzles that usually revolve around get the new thing, use the new thing, beat boss with new thing. I get it.The open world, crafting and atmosphere of BOTW is incredible. But i found the dungeons severely lacking and the music scores not quite as good. I'm hoping Tears is the masterpiece mix of the two

I can see that for sure, 100% agree on bosses. In fact i'd be fine if there were no dungeons at all, but those animal ones felt like trying to be dungeons and they just felt bad. Really bland both in the puzzles and the atmosphere. And i found the other mini temples pretty repetitive. IMO, where it really struggled was bosses.
