What do you like best about using coral snow? I have seen he DIY versions too.

It makes the water quite clear. It has definately gotten rid of most if not all noticeable vermitids

Yeah I am interested because I keep an open and what I consider a "dirty" tank (no mechanical filtration), letting detritus stay in the system other than skimming, I suspect it would do some real work on it.

I use the carbonate above but others are fine too
10 tablespoons to 475 ml rodi
Shake vigorously and let sit for 2 hours
Then shake before each use...no need to let it sit
If you want a bac in it just put like 5 ml in the dose and let sit for 5 mins then add to tank
Clean glass...blow out rocks to suspend particles
Turn off returns and skimmer and let swirl in tank for about 30 mins. Then turn skimmer/return back on.

It changes no parameters whatsoever. Acros remain with pe. Clouds the tank for about an hour. I will say my alk consumption changed when I first started using it. I needed less alk. I believe things other than coral were consuming alk and it got rid of whatever that was and remained constant afterwards
