Where did you get your Chaeto from? I have been looking at Algae barn and they have been out for some time. I am getting worried as I am expecting my Red Sea Reefer 625 XXL in two weeks.

I got it through Indo Pacific Sea Farms - IPSF.com but I can also get it locally from my LFS (I was ordering other things so I just threw it in).

POOP! I accidentally left the lid off the QT last night, and sure enough one of the Anthias decided to learn to fly... RIP. Lesson learned lid on at all times...

It is a bit insane, but we like to travel and I don't want my tank sitter to have to worry about top off. This should last about 3-4 weeks. I do have to make sure I have redundant fail safes so that the whole thing doesn't empty into the sump at one time, but I'm confident I can manage that... knock on wood!
Get Neptune ATK triple redundancy!

Can get closer shots and list parts used to replace drain valve and addition of flow sensor. That’s exact setup I’m going for with my incoming 525xl

I'm using The Tunze Osmolator, and added the Neptune optical sensor, so that if the Tunze doe not shut itself off for some reason, the Apex will shut the power off to the Tunze. i've tested it quite a few times, and it works like a charm.

I didn't replace the drain valve, as i have not had a problem dialing it in, but a lot of people replace it with a gate valve like these: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/spears-gate-valve-slip-x-slip-1-46dfb1fd21d4e16401260f54d2b6a88a.html

My drain setup is as it comes, and works perfectly. I did convert the return from Metric to Standard so that I could hard plumb my Abyzz A100. To do that you will need the 25mm- 3/4" adapter here: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/metric-to-standard-pvc-adapters.html and a 25mm coupler which I found here http://www.coralvue.com/metric-standard-coupling If you can find it somewhere else with cheaper shipping, I would do that as CoralVue charged an arm and a leg to ship, but i needed it fast as I didn't realize that it would be required, and I had everything else. I'll post a pic of the plumbing soon.

Finally an update! I will try to be more timely going forward, but life got in the way. Since my last update there have been a few changes. Unfortunately the Dispar Anthias did not do well. I no longer have any of them. On the bright side I have QT'd and added some very beautiful fish who are all doing well, as well as some nice frags that are also doing great. Here's some crappy iphone pics.

Here's the tank. I am battling some Cyano right now, but hopefully I can get that cleared up soon.

My QT setup waiting for the next batch of fish - cycling some Siporax which will go in th DT sump. The Siporax racks were designed by a buddy of mine Jimmy.

My nutrients have been running low, so I'm having trouble keeping chaeto going. I am going to try one more time with the Chaeto, but if it dies again, I will just go without it. As long as the tank inhabitants are happy without it, I'm fine with not having it. Also, the glass was to thick for my MP40's to stay on (3/4"), so I sold them and went with 2 Neptune Wav's which can be used on up to 1" glass. They are awesome pumps, and incredibly powerful. I have them on the back glass at an angle towards the front of the tank, and can only run them at 10% max or the sand gets blown away.

Monthly update time. I now have 40 diferent SPS frags in the tank from various vendors and fellow reefers. I have an additional 15 frags coming this week. I have also added a beautiful pair of Watanabei Angels and my Bartletts Anthias are now all in the DT - a total of 8 of them. Here's a few pics.

Current Fish list is:

8 Bartlett's Anthias
2 Watanabei Angels
Labout's Fairy Wrasse
Pintail Fairy Wrasse
Blue Fairy Wrasse
Mystery Wrasse
Regal Angel

Plan to add
2 Clownfish - probably Ocellaris or percula
Mandarin Dragonette
Kole Tang
Pacific Blue Tang
Foxface Lo
Lineatus Wrasse
Diamond Goby
Pair of Bangai Cardinals
Possibly a Flame Angel, although I do like my polyp extension, so this is questionable...

Do you have, (or plan to get) a Chiller? I was planning on getting one for my tank, but would prefer not to if not needed. I try to keep my home at 72°, but in the middle of summer my freshwater tanks can get up to 80° unless I keep a fan going and the room I am putting my Saltwater tanks in is always a bit hotter than the rest of the house, (not sure why). Figured I'd ask since you are here in the desert as well.

Your tank looks great btw and that ATO is very cool!

Thank you very much! I do not have a chiller, and don't plan on getting one. We keep our house at 78 during the day and 72 at night, and my tank gets up to about 79.5 during the afternoon. I do run a fan on my sump, and leave the stand doors open during the summer, but plan to add an exhaust fan to the stand so hopefully I can keep the doors closed year round. I'm OK with the tank getting up to about 81.5 before I start to get concerned.
