Edit. Old info apparently . Target feeding every 2-3 days is apparently ok.Those need lots of food. I have/had a couple come as hitchhikers on some live rock. I don’t think they made it but they are cool. Just lots of feeding to keep alive.

1400-1500@billyocean I know we've discussed magnesium in here before. But I can't remember, do you check yours and what does it usually run?
I'm finally down to 1410, I don't dose it, well AFR has some, and IO Reef Crystals is pretty high. But I've been doing less water changes this summer.1400-1500
Sometimes I check it and it's a hair below 1400 around 1380. I don't check it often as it drops slowly. If it's lower I'll dose it back up over a week or two
1500 is fine..snails start moving slower when you get a bit past 1500I'm finally down to 1410, I don't dose it, well AFR has some, and IO Reef Crystals is pretty high. But I've been doing less water changes this summer.
I was thinking of slowly bumping it up to 1500 over a week.
That's what I've read, I think I tested fresh SW at over 1600, so until my corals started using it I had a heck of a time. Almost switched salts.1500 is fine..snails start moving slower when you get a bit past 1500
Like snail can move any slower1500 is fine..snails start moving slower when you get a bit past 1500
That blue clam s a beauty
Glad to hear, how are the clowns you got?
Thanks! My regular dendro I feed every 2-3 days. Never had one of these fat ones, very bright.Edit. Old info apparently . Target feeding every 2-3 days is apparently ok.
Already established pecking order and loving up on the torch I got.Glad to hear, how are the clowns you got?
yes i have fat head dendros.Anyone have Fathead dendros? Just added this to my tank in the last 15 mins.
Its weird how different salts work for everybody. IO Reef crystals for me has a high calcium about 470-480 fresh and my mag is around 1320-1350. Im on my second batch too and had the same experience with both. For my small tank I just throw a few cap fulls of mag in a fresh batch and it usually keeps me up between 1400-1500.That's what I've read, I think I tested fresh SW at over 1600, so until my corals started using it I had a heck of a time. I should test it again, I remember I couldn't ever get an accurate reading, it would use the whole amount of regent and I would have to math more...lol
But I've got some great growth, obvious corals are using everything.
