Do a 40% water change... Do you know what flavor of dinos you have?Got some stn/rtn in New corals and dynos that I'm battling.
I use 3 different tests. Hanna, Salifert and Trident. Hanna always reads higher than the other 2 do. This week, Hanna says 9.2, Salifert says 8.3 and Trident says 8.0. Pretty consistent with Hanna high and Trident low. I tent to just average the three readings and get around 8.4-8.5. Not real scientific, but they all stay consistent and I average around them every week. It’s a little higher now because I started dosing more after adding 21 new Acro’s to the tank from the last sale. For me, Salifert seems to be the closest to true reading. This was confirmed by my last ATI water analysis.Don't know what to trust. 2 are high one is low.
The ones that do not reside in water column.Do a 40% water change... Do you know what flavor of dinos you have?
Many do that. PM me for an address and send a sample. I'll throw it under the microscope. The ones that do not reside in water column.
How unstable is the alk? What are measuring p04 with?Do we think rtn is due to alk or dyno?
My vote would be alk/stability over dynos causing it, I thinkDo we think rtn is due to alk or dyno?
Po4 measured with tropic Marin kit.How unstable is the alk? What are measuring p04 with?
Dynos only on tips of a few corals. And where damage is on some others like the montipora damage.I got rid of ostreopsis in about 4 days
The only RTN I’ve experienced is burning them with too strong of a dipping solution when I first get them. To me, a coral will RTN from some sort of shock to its system. In other words, if your Alk or other things was very different from what they were used to, they might go into shock.Do we think rtn is due to alk or dyno?
Are you sure it's dynos and not algae or cyano? I see algae or cyano on the tips when mine go south.Dynos only on tips of a few corals. And where damage is on some others like the montipora damage.
