I wake up at 5:30am for work. I open all my window to cool the house (and for pH of course) then when it gets hot I close. I have AC, but don't use it unless I have to
Yah, I’m up at 530 as well. We have an attic fan we run all night so the house is cool and comfortable in the morning, gets rough once the sun rises enough tho

No ac in the house?
yah buddy, that is correct, it is ROUGH. it's an old house with...quirks. we have a swamp cooler but that is currently out of action so we rely on fans and closed windows. on days like this i keep an eye on the tank temps pretty closely, but for us humans it gets reallll hot :(

Thank you for reassuring me, stressing over little things is (unfortunately) my mantra for right now haha. Yah it’s going to be miserable today, my house doesn’t have A/C either so it’s about to be time to shut the windows
Hope you have a window ac.

for my 65, I have a computer fan I run on the sump. Nice and cool. The 180 I don't worry because it's always cool down there

What is a swamp cooler? A kids plastic swimming pool with ice in it?

it's an evaporative cooler. there is a unit on the roof that has a mat in it (very similar to filter/sump mats) that is soaked with water and a powerful fan blows across it and pumps it down into the house. they're really really nice (when they're working). so yes, you had the spirit of the idea for sure!

Used to use a 4x on my 55 when i lived in florida. it helped keep it down a couple degreees more than the ac. Go through more top off water though.
Yes on more water top off, but that's a small thing to go through to keep the tank cool. Plus, this keeps my 2 Quanta bars led ballasts nice and cool as well.

I had a panic morning today. Tank was full of bubbles. Checked the sump and the return pump was sucking air. ATO pump had quit working. I think it was little cruastations on the sensors. Cleaned them and got it going again. My ears are so bad I can’t hear the sensor warning. Getting old sucks.

@billyocean . You mentioned once I confirmed I've dial in alk, I can skip a dosage to keep at level I want. Would I skip the day or night dosage
You could skip one day dose and space that out over several days for when it lines up to where you want it to stay. That way it's just gradual.
