I would think so. My vivid confetti is growing and branching like never before and my gold dragon as well. The dragon was far from that indo shortcake, but it's now close if not touching the cake
I was thinking about starting this. I herd they go on sale every once in a while, if the price is right i might just do it. Currently dose all for reef

Trouble comes in threes or so the saying goes, but I guess I'm just piled on top of the issues @StatelineReefer @robanister and @mww00ds are having. Came home last night from my work trip and it looks like my Nero 3 died, which meant flow from the left was essentially dead. Sadly, I put my prized acros on that side. Not sure if my Hollagram is going to make it, it receded to the base...

I checked parameters Tuesday before leaving, all spot on.

Alk 7.5
Po4 .09
Po3 12
Salinity 1.026
Mag 1450
Cal 420

Checked them again last night after messing around trying to get the Nero to work. Looks like it is internal ball bearings or something, took it apart several times, it makes noise but doesn't spin. Nothing is impeding it, it spits if I flick it with my finger easily.

Anyways, first power head I had, so it is past warranty at 20 months old, I threw a spare small sicce in there from my frag tank last night and off to buy a new power head.

My question to the group, would you buy a Nero or a MP40. I spent 2 hours last night reading reviews on various sites, seems like power heads can just fail, but AI generally has gear that works great until it doesn't (light lens melt, pumps fail, etc). I see more people selling old MP40s so I assume they last the test of time better.
Any equipment can fail. I just can't see spending so much for powerheads when even the expensive ones fail and have such a short warranty.

Jebao has worked extremely well for me and knock on wood I've never had one fail. They are cheap enough I can buy three or four for the same price.

I’ve had 4 Nero pumps. 3 Nero 3 and one Nero 5. The 5 died but I blame myself for not periodically cleaning it like I do with the others I have.

I think that the kz is starting to make a difference. Ironically in my larger 60, the Gonis and torches seem, well, pluffier with better polyp extension and overall looks.

like anything it can be hit and miss. but i have an MP40 that is 15 years old approximately and it just chuggs along, it has been in constant use during that time. i don't maintain it i don't clean it unless its so covered in algae that there isn't any flow. I have 9 MP40s, 4 mp10s, and 2 mp60s, over the years i have replaced a couple wet sides, and retired an mp60 that was getting very noisy (early generation with white controller that i bought used) that i'm told can be rebuilt but i haven't bothered with it yet. I think they are the best option out there, unless you are unlucky enough to get a bad one (it happens), they last forever, they are modular, you can replace the wet side, dry side, or controller, i'm told you can do a rebuild to replace the bearings.

I have one of the smaller neros, and i like it for the price, but its definitely not as bullet proof and i don't think provides as much flow.

Anyway that is my take
