I have a 300 and 200 watt heater in between both reefs. I’ll have to get a separate one for at least the discus tank as wellhow big is heater?
So probably at least 600 watt generator I guess. Just answered my own question I guessI have a 300 and 200 watt heater in between both reefs. I’ll have to get a separate one for at least the discus tank as well
awesome! now i can tell my wife i have a giftcard for the livesale and have an excuse to buy more without lying!
Heaters draw a lot and will chew through a battery backup in no time. Unless you meant a gas or propane generator. You also have to factor in any startup or surge wattage. So probably at least 600 watt generator I guess. Just answered my own question I guess

You could focus on powering the return pumps and wavemakers. I think flow is more important than anything else when the power goes out. Unless it’s freezing out and the power will be out for a while.I live in an apartment on third floor so gas powered is out of the question
got a balcony? something like this might work well for thatI live in an apartment on third floor so gas powered is out of the question

Yeah. The higher number is for surge/startup. For something like a fridge, heat pump, ac unit that kicks on and draws a lot.Careful generators say this all the time :
1400W Max Starting, 1100W Running Super Quiet Inverter Generator
