I hatch brine shrimp and use incandescent bulbs as the light and heat source. Since incandescent bulbs are now banned in the US, what alternatives are out there? I have reptile heat lamps but they would be overkill. I was thinking of just keeping the hatching container in a smaller tank with heated water and use a cheap light strip at the light source.

Anyone use jebao gyres? I want something stronger than the icecap 4ks...or maybe another set of 4ks if the jebao gyres aren't as strong as advertised.

I used to hathed brine. I did a DIU with an upside down 1L soda bottle attach to a pump. I put in a little heater and put it in the garage because hubby doesn't like the smell. 1-2 days, hatch and I can harvest. I don't use light bulbs or anything. In the summer, I don't use heater. I use the sun as my heat source.

Yes sir I do, I have a 70 and a 120.

I picked up a 150 on Amazon used like new for half off, I ended up returning it on as lowest setting 30%, it was just far too much.

I have 2 70/s. They are decent and send a wave across a 4 ft tank. I would upgrade to the 150 x2 and my 2 mp 40/s if i had a choice in the future for my 120. but for now i have 2 mp40s and 2 gyre 70,s

I'm thinking about grabbing a couple 180s but I'm not sure. They seem to be stronger than any other gyres I can get

The Jebao gyre are very strong. I have the SCP 120 on one send of my 180 near the torches and I have a cp40 on my 65 . I like them. Thinking of getting the SCP150

I run my 70 at about 70% and I run my 120 about 35%. They provide all the flow I need in my tank except for one dead spot behind some rocks I got a small powerhead.

How long is your new tank? The 150 may be more than enough, but then again you're pretty much SPS dominance the 180s are really going to be pushing a lot of water.

We have the SCP-90 and SCP-70, one on each end of the 90g. We run both of them at 100% on ELSE setting, which is the random setting. They seem to do well. On cross flow, it seems like it pushes more also.

Else is strong. Do you have the cages point up?
Yup, and have them about 2" below the surface. That way they make a lot of surface agitation for us. Then we have a SOW-3 and a SLW-10. The 10 is in the center of the tank, on back wall pushing forward, and the 3 is on the same side as the 70, about halfway down. Going to get another SOW/SLW-3 for the other side, have a little dead spot I've found could use some more flow.

Watch Amazon for used like new 180 if you want to save a few bucks, I really like the wifi ones. People I think return them because they can't get the wifi working. But it's really not difficult.

I don't think they have as many different settings, like lagoon or reverse, but they have enough, you can also slave them together. You can also set a schedule with them for different times of the day.

I just know how strong that 150 was, the 180 is gonna BLOW! LOL But it might be what you need.

Or mix and match to make different zones. You don't have to put them on the ends up top. You could put one lower. Or vertical on the back wall.
