So I was at my LFS and they had a gorgeous red rock flower nem with stripped foot. Only 15$ so thought I’d take a chance. It’s now hiding in a crevice barely visable on my back rock work. Just wondering if this is common? I know Ben’s gave a mind of their own but this is my first rock flower. I have a gorgeous Chicago sunburst and he has stayed visible. Thoughts help just looking for gen discussion on Rick flower nem and placement.

Thanks

I bought a rock flower and it's been under a rock for a couple of weeks.
There's not much that can be done. That im aware of.

Common yes and you want to introduce under low light and even turn off water flow for about 20 minutes to allow it to plant its foot in a favorable location. Often when they hide, it can be too much light, flow or both

They can stay in the sand attached to something, or put it's foot in a hole or crevice in the rock.
I just learned a trick from @Ron Reefman. Put them in a cap of some sort, bottle cap or PVC end cap, They will attach and you can bury this under the sand anywhere you want. Unless the condition is really bad there, they usually stay put. If you want them on a rock, choose rock with plenty of holes in it for their foot.
I got these yesterday. Did not get home until 11 PM. It was midnight before I got them into the tank. They were attached to the PVC caps a few minutes as I put them out of the back and put them in a bucket. It took me 5 mins to determine that salinity and temperature were the same. I just put them directly into the tank from the bucket without dripping.
I used 1 inch and 3/4 inch slip on PVC end caps. I used the 1 inch for the two that has PVC showing and 3/4 for the one that covers it. These are small but very colorful RFA under blueish light. Too bad I use white light in my tank. They are still beautiful.

This AM. barely 10 hrs in the tank, about 20 hrs from removal from their tanks at LFS (in Houston)

Mine tend to move around every few weeks, except for my least favorite that moved onto my zoa garden after I first introduced it and hasn’t moved since, often to the back of the rock work only to reappear and then repeat.

I have four. I've had them for about a year and a half. Two picked a rock side by side and have stayed there. One is anchored in the sand front and center. The 4th one has remained the smallest and it moves every single day, sometimes in the open, sometimes out of sight.
