RO/DI water pressure way too high after membrane change

Hey guys,

Running into a bit of an issue here about a week before going on holidays, murphy's law I guess...

I just changed my membrane, both carbon and sediment filters on my 5 step 75GPD RO/DI

I just noticed that I accidentaly bought a 100GPD membrane instead of the 75GPD one... I'm having an issue where the water just shoots like I have the biggest booster pump on all the time. Is this because the 100GPD membrane is bigger or whatever and actually doesn't really fit? It really seems that the 75GPD and 100GPD versions of my RO/DI unit are the same with just different membranes but I could be wrong. Is there anything else I could have missed? I made sure the membrane is pushed all the way.

My membrane has a shut off valve in which I can reduce the amount of flow. If yours does not have one, you can add one
You’re one of the lucky ones as many after a change suffer too low of water pressure

You need to match the flow restrictor to the rating on the membrane. You change to a different membrane, you need to also change the restrictor.

Thank you guys, my flow restrictor shows 300 on it, do you have any idea which one I need to get?

According to BRS site, a 100 gpd membrane needs an 800 ml restrictor (barrel type). FYI, a 300 ml restrictor is for a 30-40 gpd membrane.

Thank you very much. Then I guess the unit wasn't even properly setup even though I bought it new...

Websites I'm looking at suggest a 420ml restrictor for 100GPD, weird, some others say 800 like you said...
