Yeah i wouldnt worry about what the LFS's test kit says your tanks ammonia level is at.

I have found the problem, faulty test readings without secondary checks. The reading I’m currently getting is reading high on some numbers but I relied on the one test too much and didn’t realize the numbers were creeping up. A few snails did not make it and where they were on the rocks I had not paid attention til today that they have not moved. I was stressing out on all the stuff I didn’t take the time to carefully search the tank properly
What did you use to check and compare?
use Red Sea pro for the main one. I have a few salifert tests that I was able to but from my lfs and I have a couple Hanna checkers. Every once in awhile I go to the lfs to get the spin test done.
Another user error, phosphate got high a few weeks ago so I put a bag in the sump and meant to remove it last during the week last week and forgot all about it.
