It’s showing the same. zero on both
So, I "think", that means your carbon blocks are handling the chloramines for now, which is good.
*I know there are carbon blocks designed for that but I don't have chloramines in my source water so no experience there

What do you mean? This is something I’m unfamiliar to, I’m still learning everything
Yeah i wouldnt worry about what the LFS's test kit says your tanks ammonia level is at.

As long as you arent getting a total chlorine reading after your carbon, you dont have to worry.

I would assume you have fish and lots of liverock....
If so the ammonia is being processed.

Total ammonia and free ammonia are two seperate things too.

What should I look into since a handful of my corals are not opening? As well as my green bubble tip is not acting right.

Can you post a photo of your entire setup? Sump included. Also any other additives or things youve recently done or changed aside from the RODI.

I dont think your issues are coming from RODI yet. But that chloramine carbon filter from spectrapure should already be on its way lol.

I have found the problem, faulty test readings without secondary checks. The reading I’m currently getting is reading high on some numbers but I relied on the one test too much and didn’t realize the numbers were creeping up. A few snails did not make it and where they were on the rocks I had not paid attention til today that they have not moved. I was stressing out on all the stuff I didn’t take the time to carefully search the tank properly

What did you use to check and compare?
Whats off?

Can you post all known parameters now from manual test kits?

I always recommend salifert to check against anything....
Every now and then, red sea pro

use Red Sea pro for the main one. I have a few salifert tests that I was able to but from my lfs and I have a couple Hanna checkers. Every once in awhile I go to the lfs to get the spin test done.

the latest results are
Ph- 8.0
Nitrate- 46
Nitrite- 0
Kh- 174
Magnesium- 1023
Calcium- 509
Ammonia- 0.9
Phosphate- 0
Salinity- 1.025

Pool supply or amazon

But get the filter ordered first because its going to protect you from both chlorine and chloramine. Im just a stickler for knowing exactly whats in the water source lol
So I used this tester, I put the powder in and it turned pink,
Then I added the liquid reagent and it took 20 drops to turn colorless,
Then I added 5 drops R-0003and it very slight turned a little pink.
Then I added 4 drop of R 0871 and it went back clear

This water was from my faucet.
Any ideas, thanks in advnce

When I look at the vial going from pink to clear, I add the regent and it turns clear but after a couple of minutes viewing from an angle down it is pink, but when at eye level it is clear.
Which one do I go by?

I am at over 30 drops of R-0871 now.
