Tank looks great there! How did the suction cups work? Would you recommend that brand?

Suction cups came in today. Moving this bad boy into the house on Saturday. Picked up 4 cups off of Amazon under next day delivery for $45 each. These are 8” IMT (B1000) pump-active cups and each one supports 176lb safe load capacity.

There are more expensive options and there are much less expensive options. These seemed like a reasonable purchase to me and had excellent reviews.

Tank dimensions:
70.8"Lx31.5"Wx23.6"H
3/4” Glass
Input that in a tank weight calculator:
512 lbs

***UPDATE - I’m not going to recommend purchasing these cups because one came off during the tank move. Fortunately we had some big dudes helping and one of the guys was quick to reposition and we kept trucking.

I think the cups were still crucial and glad we had them. It made it so much easier to lift the tank off the crate and to get it up onto the stand.****

Not recommending those cups. See my message right after yours. I forgot to reply to you. I would personally look for a grade above these and just based on my ONE TIME USE with them I would purchase a different brand.

Following with interest as want the same tank. Like the latest updates!
Now that it’s against the wall, are there any concerns with sump access to the rear given it was design as a freestanding peninsula. Going to be doing something similar and was worried there would be an issue back there given the tank width.

Now that it’s against the wall, are there any concerns with sump access to the rear given it was design as a freestanding peninsula. Going to be doing something similar and was worried there would be an issue back there given the tank width.

I’m going to say “No”. The stand and sump are so huge along with access from the sides… there’s nothing I can’t reach. I’m not planning to add the doors on the back wall. I’m also toying with a door idea or an equipment cabinet to cover the open area that would have been against the wall if set up as a true Peninsula.

You’ll see in the pics below that there’s a shelf on the right end that would have been accessible from opening a door but that section is now against the wall. I still plan on using the shelf for a controller or to mount the power bricks.

THIS is exactly what I want to do on my next reef! I’ve thought about it since I saw this kit at a previous shoe. Love it man!

Thanks Rev! It’s one of the main reasons I went with a Peninsula style tank… no overflow or equipment on the back glass. Should look super clean once everything is all up and running.

Can you run a algae magnet over this? Also how do you think a center overflow will affect the back light? Obviously it will block it, but still worth getting??
