Hey. I have a reefer 250, and lately I’ve been trying to figure out if my lighting is ideal for my corals. I am trying to work my tank up to a full mixed reef but I only have a few corals at the moment. I’ve never really had the chance to rent a par meter and so I’ve been kind of running my lights by trial and error. I have fairly stable parameters but my hammer that I have had for almost two years hasnt grown an inch, making me think that my lights aren’t sufficient. I looked at the 20K setting as it may be most ideal but all of the three ideal settings they give are almost too blue. Im hoping someone has the same tank as mine and may have an idea or a schedule for my tank. My lights are mounted at about 9 inches above but Ive read that 8-8.5 inches is best. Here’s my schedule:

I run my lights at 90/40 which is the 20k. I have them going from 9am to 8pm with whatever ramp up and down. I have 4 and they are spaced I think about 15 minutes apart so a slower up and down. I run moon lights from 9 to 1 am

Lights are the recommended heighth or a tad higher. My hubby aimed for the 11 inches but they are a bit higher, maybe 12". Seems to be working well. I was going to go 100/40 or 50 but decided to stay here
