Please do. Makes me feel better about mine :)

Haha well I know it's just one of those things, it will eventually pass. I'm more worried about this hurricane coming! I've already came to terms with the possibility of abandoning keeping life in the tank and may need to restart after the hurricane pending the condition of my house / tank after.

Got me worried too. Predicting a second landfall in SC and come right over where I'm at pretty much. I'm far which inland maybe we won't lose power. I kept it with Hermine and Matthew last year, but lost several trees.

Ya man, I'm freaking out right along side of everyone else and as it looks right now there is no way it will miss us. I'm over in St Augustine.

Nail biting for sure. But I'm prepared, my house is closed up like a castle and my family and I will be safe inside.
The latest tracking cohort shows it running up the coast and RIGHT NEXT TO St Augustine. My wife just said - "Bet we could score on a deal at the Ritz Carlton Orlando this weekend!". She is probably right and if it follows the cohort track it would be a good idea. I could just borrow a large frag rack, frag all my stuff up and put the whole thing in my bait cooler with a fresh 12v battery. You may be just fine! Might even be able to spend some time browsing at WWC on Sunday afternoon...!

Man when you said you had some algae you didn't lie... I'd pull what I could and up my CUC. Maybe consider a small urchin. You won't have coraline, but you won't have any other algae either.

You know Man, I had that stuff all over at one point and it disappeared when I started dripping kalk in the tank. Might help and if nothing else it will supercharge that coraline growth.

I know nothing about dripping kalk but this is the 2nd time it's been suggested. Is it hard?

Not at all. You can either mix it up and use a manual doser such as this you can build with this kit from bulkreef https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/brs-diy-kalk-dripper-kit.html or something more elaborate such as this kick butt reactor from Precision Marine https://www.marinedepot.com/Precisi...actors-Precision_Marine-PM4111-FICRKR-vi.html (I use this!). It will take care of all of your alk and calc needs until your tank really cranks up and there after by maintaining PH and helping with alk and calk.

If your going to drop the cash score a PM. I have been using kalk for years and its the best reactor I have used. I also own a Reef Octo that I'm not all that excited about and gave away an Aqua Medic that I thought was junk for what I paid for it. Here is a couple of picture of the tank in my office that is kalk powered ;) 9 months old.

**** that's gorgeous! Ugh do you think it would be wise to start out ATO Kalk dosing until I get the hang of it, or the cash to buy a reactor? My wife would kill me, I told her the tank was the most expensive thing, that was before the ATI dimmable sunpower, the reefbrites, the eshopps 4th gen premier skimmer, gyre pump and tunze ATO lol

What kind of Kalk do you use? Like, brand etc.

Man with that setup your already in for a bunch of cash and a reactor will fit right in. However the ATO will give you a chance to get a feel for it. Easy to do as well but not quite as potent as a reactor as the saturated kalk looses a bit of potency when mixed with air. Try the ATO for a month and see what you think before spending money on a reactor might be best. With respect to brand, any thing will work. Its all just pickling lime. Publix sometimes has "Miss Wags Pickling Lime". Does a great job and is inexpensive. I've been running the Kent stuff out of convenience.

Update! Still no power. No dead fish, I've lost like 2 sticks for sure, and they all look like hell. Cycling tank plus power outage, I'm probably gonna lose my corals. It sucks but I'm not trying to stress over it too much, at least there was no big damage to my house.

Oh man. I hate seeing that.

Are you running bubblers on battery?

If you have pvc you can put the stone in them and have them draw the water up through them, keep the top of the pipe under water. It'll provide flow and gas exchange.
