Like I said never mind who said. what I want to know Is this product worth the money
Has it been put on the market too early and has problems or is it a great peace of kit and worth the money. That’s what I want to know
If you want a true review send one to @Reefer Matt he will be truthful on your product and he will do a video for everyone to see how it works

Not sure if you looked, but there are some reviews in this group. I did one at my 6 month mark and didn't hold anything back.

A lot more detail in the review, but a quick summary is:

It does work

App could use a face lift. Improve readability, allow calibration/offset for reagents, etc

Cloud dependent

Doesn't seem like RK makes many changes to anything other than new versions of the bot, and if they do you would never know as there is no change log. Has been lot of request with very little followed through.

Instructions are minimal at best. Example being if you use ABC Reagents, which is which for setup? You have to find a post here or FB group for answer. If you use Redsea Cal test(don't!, last 2 days max) mixing instructions for B/C reagents have to be searched for in their help section of the app.

I explain it better in the review, but it feels like RK is always moving forward to the next sale, not so much about improving what is already out there. I hate to say it, as I do like the bot and what it could be, but I think the execution is lacking.

Patrick USED to be the one in the FB group to swoop in and "white knight" any posts who would question, or give an alternate perspective, on Reef Kinetics design or software choices. He would then say you were "whining" and block you. Guess it helped him feel better to get the last word, especially when you would point out his flaws in logic and bias.

Ironic on how he jumped ship after talking up the bot and how amazing it was. Yet he is still lurking in the RK forums
I remember him feuding with you on the fb group, it's his strategy there, jumps on companies' groups to sell stuff, probably gained himself a huge discount for being the "good boy" that always speaks high of them (while working for the competition?) and then decided to sell it to make profit. Probably does that for living and when they refused to pay him, he showed them how he can be the "good boy" no longer :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing: Moral = extreme individuals are the last to be trusted whether with you or against you

Because it's a nice idea with poor planning, of course it would be better for users to have a free app and use any reagent out there, but you've made your only revenue direct bot sales and you're gonna keep chasing sales just to stay running, they better have a plan that doesn't involve us paying 50 bucks a month just to use the device.

Hello all,

We have resolved the issue from our end, and the support team is currently working with Mr. Kayleb to fix the second-hand damaged unit. There is no need to continue discussing this matter. We want to clarify that the mentioned individual is not, and has never been, an employee of our company, and we were unaware he works for another company.

We kindly ask that this thread remain where people can learn about our product without unnecessary old drama. We hope that Mr. @revhtree can assist by removing inappropriate comments and insults, and we apologize to everyone who had to witness this.

Hello Erric, there is nothing that indicates that we are planning to introduce monthly fees, the mentioned services make us special and we plan on keeping them.

Hello Frank, thank you for your review. We appreciate your ongoing interest in the upgrades mentioned in previous discussions. I want to assure you that they have not been forgotten and are being addressed in the upcoming updates.
Instructions are minimal at best. Example being if you use ABC Reagents, which is which for setup? You have to find a post here or FB group for answer. If you use Redsea Cal test(don't!, last 2 days max) mixing instructions for B/C reagents have to be searched for in their help section of the app.
All tests are properly designated on the app, except for the tests you mentioned. These tests were never published and are intended for beta usage only. It's best not to use them and stick with any of the multiple available test options until we announce that these are ready. Many limitations are still being addressed.

We understand that many users have had trouble following instructions in the past. As a result, we have started including a complete manual with each device since then.

Have a great day!

The Red Sea Cal doesn't show as a Beta, only the ABC and Colombo. Which is why I bought it after having so many issues with the API Cal test, but I didn't know it had a powder. Which is why I'm trying to use the ABC now, but with it being beta, there is a little difference in what my Red Sea Pro Alk and Mag tests report, but close enough until they are tweaked. Issue I'm having is with Calcium, it stays purple the entire test and while it generates a "result" somehow, it is not the green color shown as the "end point". I messaged Hady, but I know he is super busy, but I was hoping to get him to DM me the basics on the test so I could try a manual test, i.e. 5ml tank water, 5 drops of B and add C until end point and count drops. ABC's page even says it is for use as manual or automated test, but they don't have any instructions on how to perform them. If you could assist I would appreciate it.

I read others using them and seem to work for most. I think if RK can get them dialed in they would be one of the best options to use since you can get 3 parameters in 3 slots instead of 5. I know Hady sounded frustrated as it sounded like not many people were using it to help with the Beta, but ultimately RK should be getting it tweaked, and any users data points would be bonus. I for one would be happy to provide feedback to help get it dialed in, but as of now I can only get 2 of the 3 test to work.

Hey all,

I'm long overdue for a review on the Reefbot Lab. I've had mine for almost year now and actually just upgraded it yesterday to add the new Photometer + Test Chamber, stirring magnet and even threw the LED switch in there for the hell of it so I could turn off the LEDs at night.

Like most of us, testing just became too much of a chore for me and I've always been looking for ways to make it easier. I had the entire suite of Hanna readers. I had a trident. I got that fancy new Hanna thing that tested all the parameters in one unit (this was the worst. Nice idea, but testing one at a time stunk.) None of them really suited me. The Hannas were just too many things and steps to keep track off. The trident ran too often and reagents were expensive. Add to that the constant errors, clogged lines, etc. Also, it only read 3 parameters and didn't read them very well. Reefbot it truly set it and forget. Run the tests manually on a whim or schedule them to run whenever you want and as often as you want, unlike the trident which has a low set point which in my opinion is still too often and just eats reagents.

Reefbot had been on my radar for years, but it wasn't until i saw the Reefbot lab and watched some reviews and hands on videos that i decided to take the plunge. I sold everything else to recoup some of my cash and went all in on the Reefbot and I'll tell ya, I love it. I'm not sure why there is so much hate on here.

My unit works well. It's consistent. Hady and his team have been very helpful and responsive to any and all of my concerns which honestly have been minimal.

What you may or may not know is I was the one who suggested and finally got them to start beta testing the ABC reagents and I have been testing them out and providing feedback. I think it would be awesome to get those working right so we'd only need to have 1 vial per test for alk, cal and mag instead of 2 or 3. Add to that the new reagents coming onboard for the trident NP and the maven... who knows what RK can do with those.

I can say my go to tests which are most accurate as of now are Red Sea Pro ALK, API Cal, RSP Mag, RSP Phos and Tropic Marin Nitrate Pro. I've also at times thrown the API pH in there, the API copper and the API Ammonia for when I'm running QTs.

As far as accuracy, I've tested my water and then tested the ATI solution and the numbers were always close. I am planning to re-run all these tests again, maybe this weekend, to see how the new photometer measures up as I just installed it a day or two ago.

I've never had any issues with the app. I've been using iPhones for 15 years and I work in IT for just as long so YMMV but in my opinion it's fairly easy to setup, easy to schedule tests, etc. I love the new daily maint. tasks like stirring the nitrate reagents to keep them from getting too thick and affecting testing. Nitrate tests results have vastly improved since implementing that.

If you have more than one tank... this thing is awesome for that. You can setup multiple tanks in the app and all you need to do is change your water source. My tube currently lives in my sump and pulls from there regularly. To test my other tanks i just X out the Reefbot Lab from one tank and add it to the other tank in the app and i bring a container of water from my other tank, drop the tube in there and let it fly. Sure, a trident could pull this off too, BUT, the trident is going to throw those results in with your other results, screw up your graphs and all that. Reefbot keeps all your tanks nice and separated. I think Hydros is touting the fact that the Maven can do up to 2 tanks. With reefbot, you're unlimited, it's just a matter of switching the reefbot from one tank to the other and running your tests.

I am looking forward to future enhancements and will do anything I can to get the ABC reagents out of beta and into regular use for everyone so we can all stock up on cheap reagents.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me here or shoot me a DM.

Oh and not that it matters, but no, Reefbot is not paying me to do this review. I paid $1249 for the unit on sale last June - see my receipt attached.

Exciting Updates: New App Features to Enhance Your Aquarium Care!

Hi Reef Kinetics Community,

We're excited to announce significant updates to the Reef Kinetics App, designed to elevate your aquarium management experience:

  • Expanded Parameter Tracking: Now, effortlessly monitor additional water parameters that are not automatically tested by the ReefBot such as TDS, Salinity, Strontium, ORP, Temperature, Boron, and more.
  • Automatic Graphing: Visualize your tank's health over time with automatically generated graphs. Track trends and make informed decisions to maintain optimal conditions for your aquatic life.
  • Easy Manual Entry: Sometimes, certain parameters need manual input. With just a few taps, you can now enter and save manual test results directly through the app. It's simple and ensures accurate record-keeping.
How to Use the New Features: Using the updated app is straightforward:

  1. Navigate to the tank screen.
  2. Select "Manual Test" and choose the parameter you wish to record.
  3. Enter the value obtained from your testing and save it.
  4. Access your results anytime to track changes and make adjustments as needed.

Reefbot lab,
It was a bumpy road at first I will admit, but with reef keneticks help all was rectified. Also to be clear the problems I had were not due to there machine but do to shipping damages.

Once the problems were solved I can honestly say it is more versatile than a trident, and more reliable than the mastertronic. The ability to use almost whatever test you want and whatever brand you want is a game changer. And has worked very well even with api reagents since.

I personally don't have a problem with the app I think it works well once you learn to use it. And I can only remember 1 time the app was down for a bit since I owned it.

I do recommend it, I also recommend the company. They will truly help you if needed most wont.
