Been very busy with apartment move. Its almost over now :) . Its amazing how many things we had. Having a kid adds a lot of extra things.
I am thinking of cutting a minor release (2.1) with the doser calibration fix and configurable pca9685. Theres a big hal refactor going on which is important to streamline the support for all new drivers (ph/orp board, baseboard, daughter board etc)

Moving sucks! When I was military we did it every 3 years and it is such a headache. We are looking into moving this summer and I am really dreading it.

A new release would be cool! But make sure you take care of family first ;)

Any idea what would cause an occasional spike in CPU load like this? It looks like it goes up (sometimes very high) over about 10 min and then down again shortly after. This is in the course of an otherwise normal day. This was actually a day when I was out of town so it was really on autopilot without me there to poke at it.

Also, is it a problem? I'm happy to ignore it if it's a random occurrence.

Its a bad sign, but not an immediate issue if theres nothing else thats causing alerts. You can disable that alert for the time being and investigate once you are home. The first thing we have to nail down is whats causing CPU spike, if its reef-pi than I have to do some performance troubleshooting, if something else, then we need to track it and disable/control it. CPU starvation will delay things..

Unfortunately there's nothing else on the board, so it's something reef-pi related. It's a pi 3B+ with a 32gb card, so theoretically it should have more than enough room to do whatever it needs to do. It's happened two days this week, but not consistent as far as time of day or task. The only things it should be dealing with at that time is the kessil light (set at a specific integer, not ramping up or down), and monitoring of a float switch and temp sensor.

Me, my wife and daughter have moved 10 times since 2013! Moving sucks. Just moved a 15x30 storage unit from Texas to Georgia at Thanksgiving.

These corners give me headaches as well. This is one of the reason why I think 3d printed enclosures will be very useful. But they are very well built, and I love the clear top, it lets me see all the inidicator LEDs :)
Got the boards mounted. I offset the standoffs to be sure there was ample space if the boards overlapped for any reason. I need to punch holes for the GPIO and I2C appearances, but for now it looks good. I need to find my jumpers so I can wire this in and power it up. I should also punch a hole so I can use the HDMI port on the Pi because it may require some troubleshooting. I haven't updated any of the software since I loaded the SD card several months ago.

Nice :0) . I like these photos so much. Every build is unique in their own way..

Yeah, it's great to see the different ways people figure things out. It would be amazing to have a 3D printer, but I don't have one, nor the need for one, so I will continue my legacy of re-purposing stuff.

What is the tolerance on turning the heater on and off, above and below the set temp? So if I set at 77 at what temp does the heater turn on and what temp off?

I believe its based on the time. If you set it to 77, anything above and below 77 will trigger the heater on or off. The trigger is based on the time interval you set it to check. for example set it to 77, reef-pi checks and it is below 77 so the heater turns on. The next check interval is 30 seconds later and checks again. If its now above 77 it turns off, if its still below 77 it stays on. And it re checks every 30 seconds.

Hope the move went smoothly or as smoothly as possible! We're all happy to have you back, I'm sure!

Whoa! Now that's A TON of moving! After my divorce in 2005, and until 2013, I moved 13 times which involved multiple states of geography and sanity! With each move I took less and less with me. I got to the point where the last two moves I was packed and ready to go within about 6 hours. Since 2013, there's only been one move and the "6 hour time-frame is no longer viable!"

You dont specify a single temperature value, instead you have to specify a minimum and maximum (a range) and the heater/chiller will be controlled accordingly. You also get to specify the check interval

55 seems like it would be a good age to be semi-retired! Hope I can semi-retire when I get there (just over 4 years from now)!

Here is the progress I have made on my build so far. I am using wykats pi-hat and pwm board.

I am now waiting for parts to arrive but in the new year I should have 16 outlets, temp monitoring and then after that I will decide what else. I already have separate controllers for heating/cooling and ATO but I may put them on the reef-pi instead.

Currently just have my LEDs running so far and working great. Turns out my LDD-H drivers have to be run straight off the chip otherwise they can't turn off.

Looking good!
What type of power supply are you using?
