I was reading the quarantine policy on the @ReefChasers site, wondering what I should comment on, and then read the section about how they monitor daily for aiptasia anemones and other coral pests and I was like "bro, me too".
November 4th
Wow a quarantine system of a thousand gallons and 120 compartments. I would love to set up a quarantine system, but to have a separate tank just for that I really don't have the room
November 4th entry: I check out the quarantine policy in the web site and I must say this is quite impressive i have never heard of such an extensive policy this should be done by all stores that carry live stock. The fact that you treat all fish to prevent the most common disease before it even show symptoms is outstanding. I will definitely be looking into more of this for the future. Thanks foe the read!
I apperciate that reef chasers take preventative measures while qualifying their fish. "implement preventative measures on these specimens which include medicated baths in anti-parasitic medication such as Praziquantel (PraziPro), or others." Also, I like their use of individualized compartments to treat their fish.
There are a variety of things I appreciate about their quarantine process, but to pick one, I'd say the food. It's excellent that they treat through food soaked in medications, even nori.
"November 4 - Did you know that Reef Chasers quarantines all of their fish for a minimum of 4 weeks? For today's entry challenge, check out the Reef Chasers quarantine procedure at the Reef Chasers website and comment about something you appreciate about their process."
I truly appreciate that you take all the precautions you do, taking the time and proper procedures to ensure a healthy addition to our tanks. I also appreciate the education and information you provide to us as fellow hobbyists, tank owners and customers.
Nov 4 entry: appreciate the quarantine procedures for both fish and coral wish more places follow more strict quarantine so the client get more quality products.
11/4: the fact that you run a quarantine in general is great. Love that you're using the food process as well to help with both treatment and getting them to eat frozen
