I have a RedSea Reefer 750XXL and have a lid that came with it. The lid is in perfect shape, but the lighting mounts keep the lid off the edge of the tank by about 3/4" on the two sides (if you look super close a the left and right, you can see what I'm describing). I didn't realize the ability of my Jawfish to find the spots on my tank that he could escape, but we found hi almost 2 feet away from the tank this morning on the floor. I am hoping that all of you might have a better solution than having to buy a whole new cover for my tank. I even checked Kraken just now and they don't have a solution unless I have them build a custom design.

Do any of you have a good McGuiver solution to this problem with out destroying my lid?

We offer a lid for that tank model, and cutouts that can be selected when ordering. Unsure what you mean by custom design? All of our lids are built to order, so not sure if that is what you meant by that. This video can give you an idea of how it would look/fit in the end;
They used RMS mounts (like yours) with them positioned in the rear, we can do the cutouts on the sides for your rail mounts like you have as well.

Under the cutout section, you can select the RMS cutouts and specify rail mount for location. Let us know if you have any questions.

Modify your lid so they go around your mounts. Red Sea sells these for that purpose

FYI jawfish will swim around at night actively looking for holes.
