Red Sea reef mat 1200 - I need to modify my ice cap sump

Can I cut these sock holder baffles out of the 36 XL sump so that I can fit in my red sea reef Mat 1200. I don’t think it’s structural, but I just wanna make sure and also does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove that?
