New to the hobby. Here is my Red Sea Reefer 170 build. Red Sea LED 90 lighting, Red Sea 300 Protein Skimmer, Red Sea ReefWave 25, Apex EL. Waiting on my Innovative Marine 5 gallon ATO Reservoir with Duetto dual sensor ATO system to arrive. Tank is now cycling so 6-8 weeks before anything else. Loving the challenge and learning new things. This forum has the best folks. Non judgemental and always willing to help. Can't wait to post updates!

First life in the new tank. Everyone seems happy so far. Will let these guys settle in a bit before anything else.

U were smart to position tank at an angle, on my 1st cube I made the mistake of placing it straight next to a wall w/o leaving enough space to fit my arm between the wall and tank making it impossible to get my hands all the way to the back of tank while using a magnetic algae scraper. :p Liking the rockwork too

Thanks a bunch! So happy on placement as well. Wish I had given myself an extra inch or two, but it is workable as is! This is my first reef tank so I am extremely pleased at how it is doing. Tons of research went into this and I am thankful I took the time.

great to hear! In the early tank stage, I try to add new livestock at an extremely slow rate, i.e. several weeks in between new addition, to give the new tank's beneficial bacteria plenty of time to catch up to sustain the additional bioload. Also noticed some GHA on rocks, are you monitoring the PO4 level?

Thanks for the advice. I will definitely be taking it. PO4 is next on my list to start measuring.
