When I was at RAP Orlando this past weekend, I was able to look at a lot of corals and a lot of hardware. A few things caught my eye such as the Hydros Maven (but that is another thread). Another thing was the quality of all of the products that were being showcased by Deltec. It wasn't that they had any new or different gear (skimmers, reactors, filter rollers, etc.), but rather all of the equipment was well thought out and built with quality. I spent some time talking with one of their reps and they pointed out a ton of little details that demonstrated quality. What is your experience with Deltec? If you haven't given them a serious look then it may be time to at least consider Deltec with your next equipment purchase.

I bought the Deltec twin Tech CRTT 1500 Auto Calcium Reactor to replace the Aquarium Engineering Auto reactor I have. I tried numerous times to get it to run stable and could never get it to keep the Alkalinity where I wanted. It would work for a couple days and then the Alkalinity would spike. After 4 different times over a couple of years It's now a paper weight in my Basement.

Wow. I hate that for you. Never with Deltec equipment, but I have a few paperweights as well. Did you ever reach out to Deltec for support?

Have a Deltec skimmer. Basically set and forget since day 1. As you say well thought out and quality made. But as DocGori says ain’t cheap. But this could be a good example of you get what you pay for.

I did have problems that they were helpful with, Like I broke one of the cylinders and they sent a new one but other than that they were not any help with the running directions. In fact there is very little instruction help any where on these reactors.

Running into the same issue! Got mine last year and had pump issues they went with cheap jeabo pumps and you can tell.
For such a premium price point sad!
I sent a email to get a new pump and they told me the following. Pretty disappointing get no product support with parts. They want you to buy a new controller and pump. The reactor is about 1 year I’m highly disappointed!

Hello Toly,

The reason I ask what version of the feed pump you have is that there was a recent upgrade between last year and this year to the 1.3v. I do not see a record of an account tied to this email that purchased a unit that was sourced from our US facility.

I will explain your options regarding a Deltec sourced feed pump for your CRTT.

We no longer sell the 1.2v of the feed pump since the upgrade. This is why it is permanently out of stock.

The 1.3v feed pump must be used with the new 1.3v controller since the electronics of the pump have been moved to the controller housing to prevent overheating. The retail disparity between the pump as an individual item, and the controller with it would go from $80 to a $400 purchase.

It is likely you still have the 1.2v since this was a recent change.

I am sure there are pumps with similar specifications that can replace the 1.2v but I simply do not have anything other than the incoming 1.3v and controller 1.3v to provide. Jebao made our previous versions so they could likely help with finding a similarly rated pump.

I have a shipment from our manufacturer expected to arrive in 6-8 weeks that will include the upgraded equipment. I can add you to the list if you would like.

I purchased a Deltec 1000ix skimmer with neck cleaner from Adam at Battlecorals a few years back for my 100g tank. Great skimmer, really liked the neck cleaner and the overflow feature. I used it for a year prior to moving and now it sits, preserved in bubble wrap in storage. Maybe one day I will be able to have a larger tank again and place it back in service.

I know a few who run the Deltec skimmers with great success and they are well built
Look at geo carx. Simple and very efficient with a quality build.
I run an 818 running a Kamoer and pull through the system.
A quality 2 stage regulator and your done. Set the bubble count and let the Kamoer do the rest.
No controller or ph probe needed.
No need, imo, to reinvent the system when this approach works so well.
System runs on a Sicce pump.
