Randy’s 2part - using loud wolf products

So I want to switch my dosing to Randy’s recipe.

Loudwolf sells both magnesium and calcium chloride. Am I right to assume these will work in place of the ones listed in the recipe?


The calcium comes in a fine powder. Would I need to adjust the recipe?

Those look fine. The calcium looks to be anhydrous so use 20% less than my recipe calls for.

You say that we should add 610 ml of part 3 after every gallon of part 1 and 2. Would it be ok to dose this over the length of time it takes to go through 1 gallon of part 1 and 2

Hypothetical
I dose 35ml daily
That’s roughly 108 doses per a gallon
Could I dose 5.5ml a day of part 3?

Yes, spreading it out is a good plan, especially in smaller tanks.

With the part 3 could you add other trace elements into the mix?

Just so you know I do not do frequent water changes. I usually do one after I get the results of an ICP, if my numbers are highly skewed. I do want to start dosing certain trace elements with this 3 part, manganese being one of the main ones. I am still reviewing your spreadsheet of elements to dose. I believe I would at minimum dose the ones you say to dose if nothing else.
