We agree with you 100% and for that reason we decided to continue offering the same quality Metal Halide bulbs. I will take this opportunity to answer some of the questions and comments we have seen about our brand. As many of you know, Hamilton is currently closed (unknown if it will open in the future). Dave and I (Alejandra) have been in this hobby for over 24 years and know the importance of Metal Halide bulbs to the proper growth of corals. We believe in the quality and spectrum of the bulbs to be some of the best in the hobby and wanted to continue offering them, even when many might say the hobby is dying, but as I said, "Only if we let it". We will be working on providing not only bulbs but also complete systems in the near future. If any of you have any suggestions to what products you would like us to bring back, feel free to let us know.

We received our first batch of bulbs under our new brand and there are more coming soon!
It takes a lot of effort to start from scratch, but we believe in what we do and hope to continue to receive your support!
Thanks for posting here.
I have just received 6 of your bulbs while on a trip to US and Dave was very helpful and accommodating to match my schedule. So plus one on the customer service and looking forward to try them soon.

Radium vs Reefbrite 20k 400w bulbs
It seems like not many people are running the Reefbrite bulbs. Is there a reason? They seem to have good customer service when there are issues. I am currently running 400w Radiums on my display tank. With the availability questions and increased cost of the Radiums, I was looking for a replacement. I picked up a few of the 20k 400w Reefbrite bulbs to try. The color is pretty comparable to my eye.
Does anybody have some hard data on these two bulb choices like a spectral graph, par output, heat production (the Radiums run hot)? How long will the Reefbrite bulbs run vs the Radiums?

Paul
Hey Paul,
I am running a 72" Giessman Spectra fixture, that holds 3 MH bulbs. Right now I have 2 RB 250w and 1 Radium 250w, 20k bulbs. While both say they are 20k, the Radium is located in the middle section of the fixture, and is much bluer to the eye. As in not even close. I know you asked about 400w bulbs, but thought I would share my experience with RB and radium 250w, 20k bulbs. I am going to buy more radiums at the website shared, even though they are twice the cost of the RB when they are on sale.

Have you installed those aquabright bulbs yet?

We have a Reefer 250 and 1000. Long story short, wife and I had the 250 rolling with Clams/SPS/LPS/Softies and our then 3 year son, now 5, decided to "feed" the tank. All gone. We kept the fish alive and are now rebooting the coral. The 1000 never got off the ground because we lost all the feeder coral so it houses a pair of maroons. The 250 had two Radion XR15's but we just added a t5 hybrid. We liked that so much I ordered two 24" t5 hybrids for the 1000 that has three XR30's. We still have room to add a MH in the middle and would like to try that as well. We are looking at the reefbrite adjustable ballast 175/250/400 SE. (Side note, reefbrite's website states that the 400 w bulb is not part of the selectable ballast but this product page says it is. Not sure how that works.) We're thinking we could start out with a 175 from aquabright and move up as necessary. Our plan is to move one of the XR 30's to the 250 and keep two on the 1000 with eight 24" t5 and one MH. We want to be able to keep anything she desires. Any suggestions would be great. We have a par meter so we can do all the checking for coral placement.

I put an Aqua Bright Solutions 250 Watt 20,000K in one of the moguls on my 3x 250w spectrum. I have radiums in the two sockets. Visually I can't tell the difference. Looks identical. I will eventually compare par, but my buddy borrowed it to measure his leds lol.

I put a radium in and I feel like it has considerably more blue.

I'm completely satisfy with $20 20k ebay bulbs, to my eye i see no difference between radium and "marine color" ebay bulb.
just to add, results in coral grow have zero effect

I didn’t have luck with the 250w de marine color bulbs. Had one crap out after a short time and another literally popped inside the fixture. They’re also very brittle compared to other DE brands. I haven’t messed around with the mogul 250s yet. Is the glass as thick as a radium bulb?

thickness wise i don't know, but size wise, marine color 250w bulbs are same size as radium 400w bulbs. i have switched from radium's to marine color over a year ago, and bulbs still holding strong

Which ballast are you using? When I fired radiums on electronic they were very blue and dim in a 250w version. On the hqi ballasts they have the blue/white hue that they become know for.
Reefbright 175/250. I really like my overall color. I think led blue changes the way you look at blue but overall the whiter spectrum is better. That’s probably why growth is better. Blue can definitely be overdone.

So safe to say the aqua brites are going to perform the same as radiums on electric? I went back to Hamilton only to then load up on ushios and not loving it at all.
I have an electronic 250 ballast that I will try. I’ll compare to radium on hqi and post back here

Not sure who's company, but anyone who's carrying radium halides and other halides today is getting my support.

So the left side is the aqua bright solution halide on a reefbrite 250w electronic ballast, the right is a radium on m80. To my surprise I can't see the difference. Pics are taken with my iPhone 13pro with no lens filter. First 2 are halide only, last one is with blue reef brites on as well.

I really appreciate that. I've been running these ushios for the last 6 months and they just don't seem right to me. They also seem to get a lot hotter than the Hamiltons without the bang. Man I miss my Aqua Medics lol. Thanks again
