Wanting to catch this early before it’s to late, is this a sign of marine velvet?
My clown rang is eating a lot and doesn’t seem to be bothered just once or twice swiping against the sand on same side of discoloration.

I have UV sterilizer running in display tank and was thinking about adding a larger one to the sump.

Temps are around 79 and trying to get it lower
Salinity 1.025

so Prazi is the best way to deal with this situation?
You think it’s best to dose my display tank or remove fish into QT?
I’d ask @Jay Hemdal to confirm.. flukes don’t normally leave a patch like that, uromena “spelling” does.. it could just be a scrape thou from the itch of the flukes..

That’s not velvet - you would mainly see rapid breathing with that.
This is a scrape, either an accident, or scraping due to flukes.

So yes either way prazi pro works.. I’ve dozed my display with no I’ll effects.. follow the directions on the bottle and keep your skimmer running without the cup for 2 days to keep o2 levels up then do a 20% water change and run carbon.. after 8 days do a second dose and take skimmer and carbon offline again for 48 hours followed by another water change of 20% and then put your skimmer and new carbon online and should be good.

thanks, appreciate the extra mile on the information. I had a quick scare because I’m about to add Copper Bands to the tank
