So I'm getting ready to do a new build. My sump is in my basement and my tank will be in my living room. The sump is sitting on a short stand about 2ft off the ground. The distance from the sump bottom to the top of the tank is about 12ft.. the tank is about 180g. Any suggestions on which pump to use should be great. I'm assuming a DC pump is out of the question bc of the height. My sump is a 75g converted acrylic aquarium. I run a manifold off of a second pump to run all my reactors.

I have 2 pumps in y basement that I never used that I acquired awhile back, maybe they would be useful.. one is a pan world NH-200PS(not sure the flow rating), the other is a reeflo baracuda/hammerhead hybrid (says flow at 6' 5400gph @325watts, flow at 6' 3400gph @225watts

Would love some feedback. Thank you.

I use the Jebao 15000 on my 180g, 15 ft straight up from the basement at about half speed + 50 G refuge.

The 20,000 will also work.

Great pumps, absolutely silent and running 4 years now.

Nice I didn't think the dc pumps would be strong enough. I'll look into that. I figured the 2 ac pumps are bothe probably overkill and definilty huge draw on the electric bill.

Just check the flow rate chart for the pumps you are interested in. I have a similar situation and purchased two Red Dragon 5 ECO 130W. Will be running two 5260gph gyres and will add more internal flow if needed.

Originally I was going with two Iwaki 100RLT which will definitely outperform the Red Dragon.

Both those easily do that height…..will room to spare, easy on your power bill.

Smooth, dead silent, impressed with all Jebao stuff.

Have everything Jebao. Years running without problems.

I'm going to be using 2 mp40s and a gyre for internal flow, I just want to make sure the turn over is enough.. through the sump and back up to the tank. My plan is to run one pump just for turn over and a smaller pump to run my manifold and all my reactors. My last tank has been running for a few years and its time to go bigger. Just wanna do it once. And not go through a bunch of test pumps lol

I can vouch for the electric saving. I broke down a tank with a basement sump running a reeflo barracuda I believe. I set up another so the only thing changed was the reeflo was replaced jebao dcp 15000. That was a few months ago and my bill has been $50 less each month since.
