I plan on getting a leopard wrasse for my 120 and was wondering how to go about quarantining them. I know they don't tolerate copper very well and are difficult to get eating so any advice would be appreciated.

@Jay Hemdal

they can handle copper, just not at such a high level. You also need to raise the copper levels slowly, though I’m not sure of the exact levels.

I’d recommend getting one from the store so you can confirm it’s eating before you bring it home. Make sure to have a variety of foods ready. Having some garlic guard on hand wouldn’t hurt either, although you probably won’t need it if you’re getting the fish from the store. Another reason to buy from a store is that they don’t do well with shipping, they often come weak and with parasites.

You can treat leopard wrasse with coppersafe or copper power at 2.25 ppm (measured with a Hanna probe).

Leopard wrasses are what I consider "expert only". They don't ship well and have difficulty going through a standard quarantine due to an inability to adjust to a "bare tank". However, if you don't quarantine them, they are prone to disease!

The biggest issue is that they are "browsers", they swim along and pick at pods to eat. They just don't get to do that in a quarantine tank.

Here is a thread with some additional info:
