We us mostly 3/4" and sometimes 1". Most of the time we try to picture with egg create in the back ground to show size reference which is 3/4" per square

Like light flow and minimal light?

They need a certain par. And then a certain flow as to not allow detritus to sit on it. There are some informative videos out there detailing that info. And be sure to feed it meaty food regularly. I’m nursing mine back to health because I was out of town and it started bleaching and receding.
