What I want is well treated fish that I know hasn't been caught by unsustainable means (e.g. overexploitation, cyanide, etc.). I would definitely pay more if I was assured of this.

I would like there to be as few intermediaries as possible between where the fish grows up and my tank. Collector-> holding tank -> my tank or breeder->my tank is ideal. Collector->holding tank->LA based importer -> LFS that does some kind of initial quarantine -> me is OK.

I would also pay a substantial premium, for wild fish, to know where it was collected. Depth, environment, rough area (within 300m or so) would be ideal.
