Finally got an up close video. Maybe this can help some of you see anything wrong. I had just fed flakes it loves. No signs of eating this evening.

O.K., this video is a LOT better - the tang is breathing faster than ever. That is either a sign of gill parasites, water quality issues or systemic disease. In looking at the whole tank video, the other fish are breathing too fast as well, but not as fast as the PBT. That species has very high dissolved oxygen requirements, so that makes sense from that regard.

First thing you should do is add two powerful air stones, one at each end of the tank. That may resolve the issue, if not, it will buy you some time to continue to work on the issue.

Whoa... as Jay says all the fish are breathing at an extreme rate.

I think you should still be on a 2nd dose of prazi pro ?

As Jay says, its a must to increase the oxygen levels in the tank asap.

The breathing is weird. This was right after a water change and 2nd dose of prazi. There are 2 wave makers and 3 tidal filters on the tank.

After this video I was looking and everyone minus the tang was breathing normally. We're leaving early this morning for a 3 day trip, so fully prepared to come home to a lost tang. My mother in law is keeping an eye on the tank and feeding for us.

Often when you begin a course of Praziquantel the reaction from the fish infected by grill flukes is rapid breathing, this is a little more rapid than what I have ever observed in this case. I think the 2nd course of Prazipro is a significant reason for the rapid breathing as the gill flukes get extremely agitated and likewise so do the fish.

What I would advise before you leave is as Jay says run as many airstones as you can. But another great tool to increase oxygen in this case and what I always do is remove the skimmer cup, set the skimmer to a wet skim setting so that foam constantly pushes out of the top and back into the water column.

I feel that not only is the powder blue at risk but all your fish are at risk with low oxygen oxygen levels. The Prazipro also creates a lower oxygen level in the water column.

After seeing all this Jay Hemdal was spot on with his suspicion of gill flukes, I'm glad you went with the prazipro treatment. I would advise a 3rd treatment as I think the first one was interrupted and there is also plenty of media to reduce the amount of Praziquantel in the water column.
