Picked up a 60 gallon rimless deep blue edge reef ready tank for a good price the other day. Figured I should start a build thread, because I'm new to cubes and may need help.

here's the tank. I was originally going with a 10 gallon sump, but had no room in the sump for anything. I set this tank up and it was a disaster, the tubing slipped off the mag 7, and I had water shooting everywhere. I then got it back on and didn't release the return hose that pumps through the tank was pointing out of the tank, and water shot everywhere! All over the outlets and everything. Contacted the only local reefer I know who is extremely helpful (bucks fan) and he walked me through everything. I decided to swap the 10 gallon for a 21 gallon plastic container and things are going well so far. Leak test was preformed and the bulkheads stopped leaking.

I'm picking up some dead rock later today.

I have the same set up minus the rimless and was able to fit a 20g tall as my sump in the stand. I am in a few weeks upgrading to a new 93g rimless.
Here is my current sump.

Looks pretty neat! Just curious, why no sand bed?

I've always had at least a 4 inch deep
Sandbed, and wanted to try something different. I like this look more and. Maintenance has been much easier, being able to siphon everything from the bottom.

Added my carpet nem, some sand for it, and my upside down jelly fish. Ditched the led and went with a 400 watt halide.

He's much bigger than I expected...moving the rock around him to make some more room. The only reason I have the rock is because I don't want him wandering and this has always worked for me. The only fish in here are my clowns so not very fearful of him eating anything but you never know. Hopefully they take to hosting him soon. I will feed him in about 4-5 days after he is comfortable. I will post a picture when I'm home from school and the lights are on.

He's kinda mad at me right now because the algae scraper bumped him lol. Lights have been on for about 3-5 mins. I say he's about 15 inches when fully opened. Right when the lights turned on and I made him mad he is about 12 inches.

I haven't been updating this thread, but I'm back to my Apollo led and I'm using a coralife 220 super skimmer until the move is complete. I've just been watching my tank grow and thrive. Haven't changed or introduced anything in a while due to the move. Here are some updated pictures.

Cubes are defiantly fun. Lots of space to work with but compact at the same time. I have all my clams in containers at the moment. I'm moving soon and it will make transporting much easier.
