Tank is looking great!
Thanks! It's really a great size for a learning tank. Small enough to avoid getting too overwhelmed and big enough to stay fairly stable. But now that it seems to be thriving, the lack of real estate gets frustrating.

I started turning up the light brightness, took the flow down a few notches (the fish are much happier), and started feeding Benepets. Then I went through my annual super busy weeks at work and never found time to check parameters. So on Monday I finally had time to check Calcium and Alkalinity. Calcium was still looking pretty good at 440, but Alk had dropped to 6.9 dKH. I should have seen it coming as growth had picked up a bit, especially with my purple stylo which has almost doubled in girth.

So I've turned up my Alk dosing a little bit to slowly bring it up. It would probably have been in worse shape but I use Reef Crystals salt so my weekly water changes have been with high Alk fresh SW.

Temp is sitting steady at 78 and my salinity is 1.026 like always. But I really need to set up a pH monitor and see what kind of fluctuations I've got going on there.

I’m hoping to do some fragging soon, and I have plans for a lighting upgrade. Until then, here’s my tuxedo urchin carrying around a hermit crab molt.

I also did this post as a separate thread with a poll.

When I get my control cabinet set up next to the aquarium I want to add switch control for some of the equipment. Specifically, when I'm out of the office I want an easy way for my coworkers to kill power to the ATO if it starts beeping. I'm considering two different directions to control ATO/Return Pump/Nero5:

Sleek and "high tech" smart light switch style:

Industrial power switches (I work in a tool store):

My GSP was getting out of hand so I razored a big strip off of the glass and wrapped it around an old staghorn branch. It's angry in the pics but actually looks pretty cool.
