Hey guys

so I currently run a nuvo 10 that is filled with zoanthids. I had done saltwater a few years ago when I lived with my parents. However I never got deep into it. When I purchased my own house I decided that I was going to dive into it as deeply as possible. The nuvo 10 was setup to learn as much as I possibly could before putting aside the funds, and the space for a frag tank. Before deciding on the nuvo 25 I had thought about going with a acrylic frag tank with a sump. However knowing what I know about acrylic. Its problems with scratches, and the need for a external sump. I decided upon a nuvo 25. I really love the build quality, and the look of my nuvo ten is fantastic. Also this tank will house nothing but zoanthids so a bunch of equipment is not really needed. I would say most nano tanks at the moment have to much equipment actually. Why a 10 gallon tank would need a protein skimmer is beyond me. However I digress.

The room. the setup. the butcher. the baker. the candlestick maker.

I just so happened to have a empty room to dedicate to this tank. It is of the perfect size to house the tank. I will also be putting in shelving, and a desk for fragging corals etc.

Here is were we are so far. The tank has been setup. It is currently cycling. Today I had a rodi line from rodi filter installed to this room through the crawl space. Being able to make water in any room I like is fantastic. I hate lugging buckets around.

Current equipment is as follows

Filtration
2 IM Media Baskets- on top is one piece of filter floss, and below is 500ml seachem pond matrix. So far the reach chambers house 1 litre of seachem pond matrix

Heater
Eheim Jager 75 Watt Heater- In the mail I have a ranco temp controller coming. I use a ranco on the nuvo 10 with a ranco, and it is perfection. It keeps temperature exact. I have not had 1 single problem with it. It may be expensive, but it is worth it.

ATO
Smart Ato Lite- I would have gotten the micro however I wanted to try the lite as it was in stock via amazon for 80$ I use a auto aqua awc on my nuvo 10. It works perfectly, and I have not had 1 single problem. This ato is a lite version of that of course. I decided to buy it due to my experience with the other. So far it has performed flawlessly.

UV
I have a small 14 watt uv bulb installed in the reach chamber as well. I found these to be of great value. It helps a lot with cloudy water, algae, bacterial flare ups etc.

Power
Kasa smart strip- Perfect. Would not do another tank without one. Allows me to easily turn off heaters, and pumps. Also do my light schedules.

Items coming in the mail

I have a IM refugium basket coming. I am going to use it to house a additional 1 litre of seachem matrix. I had also ordered a used vortech mp10. In terms of lighting this build will start as t5. I will be using a 24" 4 Bulb t5 unit from amazon. I actually light the nuvo 10 with t5s, and the unit I got has performed perfectly. I decided to repeat that with the nuvo 25. I will be using 2 ati blue plus and 2 ati true actinic. This is more of a nod to jason fox. Not to mention t5s from my experience just work. Also it only cost me 160$ for the full setup. You can not really beat that. I will probably add reef brites later, but for now it is t5 all the way. I will be using a large tiered frag rack system from mrreefs and or oceanbox designs. I am not quite sure yet. Ok thats about it for now.
