I have ran the 29 several years back and 32 Biocube now. Here's my opinion based on my experience. If I have it to do over again I would have used my skimmer money and applied it to a coral. I found the one I purchased (on both setups) produce a little skim but not enough to justify the cost IMO. Your water changes should be enough. If your planning to keep the lid on on your 16 your evaporation should be minimal, I use a solo cup and add every other day or so, 1/2 cup to 1 cup tops. Other folks might experience more evaporation and use the ATO. Like I said it isn't bad enough for me to justify the cost.Sorry to hijack this thread - regarding an ATO for a biocube 16** (not 32) - I'm planning on having the 16 sit on a desk without the option to run any cords or pumps underneath the tank. Do you recommend any ATO device specifically that could hang off the back and still let the lid close and seal? I am going to have a heater in spot 1, a filter basket in spot 2, and I would like to do some kind of protein skimmer (Tunze?) but I'm not sure how / where I will be able to put it. I would prefer less things (hopefully no things) inside the main tank chamber.
Thanks!
