I found someone local selling a 'body' for 180 obo.. I don't know anything really about cameras but what else would i need to get it to work? Is that a good price on this camera? If anyone out there uses this camera could ya post some macro shots?

i'm not a nikon expert, but any camera of that caliber would be worth 180. what is the megapixel on that one (just to gauge the age)?

first, though, i would make the dude slap on a lens and take some pics, to make sure the ccd isn't broken, scratched or whatever. are there any visible flaws? as long as it takes pic's like it was intended, i think 180 is def worth it, so long as it's 8 or more megapixels.

The d70 is a great camera. One thing to always check is the actuations on a camera. I believe the d70 has a 100,000 average shutter life. It the actuations are anywhere near that I would not buy the camera.

Tell the seller to snap a shot in RAW (might work for untouched jpg's too) have him email it to you and run it through a exif viewer like opanda.
