Hello I recently started in the saltwater hobby, I’ve been in fresh water for about 3 years . Saying this maybe you guys can help me with my question about lighting , I have a Nicrew Hyperreef 150 for a 60 gallons tank , I was wondering how many hours of light should I do , and what type , blue/red/white or just blue . Corals in aquarium not many , just Xenia and Palys

Whats up Jose. 10-12 hours is what a lot of people do. If your lights do dawn to dusk, you can go longer.

Blue/Violet are good with small amounts of red and green. I do a heavy Blue and Violet with 5% red and green. May eliminate the red entirely as a test as it may be a contributing factor to a very mild outbreak of hair algae.

Hello and Welcome to R2R! I have LED lighting for my tank. I watched a BRS video which explained how to position them for a 4' tank. My tank is 6' so I used an extra light for the additional 2'. I placed them 12" above the water and spaced accordingly. I also went on to the AI website and found several recommended color use and timing according to having coral or not. I only use 40% of the lighting when it is at its peak.
