Hello all, and Happy Independence Day! I'm new to the reefing hobby, currently cycling my first tank. I have had my Nitrite spike and my ammonia has reduced by 50%. Getting super excited. I have what I consider to be a super budget build list and it is as follows:
Aqueon 55 gal display tank
Eshopps HOB Overflow PF 800
Eshopps RS-75 Sump
IoaoI Protein Skimmer
Smartpond 800gph return pump
Eshopps HOB Return nozzle
Aqueon 5.5 gal tank for ATO
MagTool Duetto V2 ATO system
MagTool DC Gyre 2400gph Wavemaker
2 x Hydor Koralia 2450 Gen 3 powerheads with Wavemaker Controller
All contained on and within a homemade stand. ($80 bucks worth of lumber and hardware vs $200-300 store bought)
My intentions are to start out with 2 Chinese black box LED lights found on Amazon that seem to have pretty good reviews, and then eventually work up to better brand stuff. Anyhow, Thanks for the warm welcome. I look forward to this beautiful hobby/journey and sharing my experiences along the way.
