Brand new to anything aquarium, got a saltwater coralife 29 gal. Setup with livesand and a live rock. Pretty excited to see how things go over the next month.

Any tips for starting a new tank? Looking for some Cheato hosting copepods to get into the back of the tank currently.

Also in NH if anyone else here is, would be nice to be more plugged in to a local community :)

Welcome to aquariums and to Reef2Reef!

It's a very cool hobby, I wish you the best of luck.

The best advice I think that most of us give is to go slowly, and be patient.

Copepods can be purchased, but in time they will populate your tank all on their own if you're, well, patient ;-)

Good luck!

Hey, not super active around here but there are some cool reef stores in the area (mostly in Mass, haha) I went to the farmers frag market in CT last year after just starting out. You’ll get some amazing and healthy corals at good prices. I’d say a lot of this hobby is trial and error. Trying to maintain an ecosystem in an enclosed space takes patience, and as such errors and mistakes are inevitable. Don’t get sucked into the super expensive corals or creatures until you feel more confident. I’m still a newbie but feel free to reach out and hopefully I can point you towards the right direction.

Hey @Dromnk welcome to the hobby, I’m also in NH and just getting back into the hobby after a long hiatus. I’ve met a few fellow local reefers while buying used gear off FB, not a lot of us around here but there certainly are a few.
