I dont have any pics of the things that came out smh, but we were worried about maybe flukes since we didnt really see any spots on the directly cause there is still a humahuma the coral beauty and a 6 line wrasse. And we worried that maybe what ever took the other out may still be living in the tank

Just switched to rodi water about a month ago, and currently using the api test master test kit and I went and bought a calcium, phosphate, and copper test kits, the copper test kit was bought cause we bought cuppermene but didnt wana use it just yet on the full dt

There was about a month before the fishs death with the red slime remover, but I did completely empty the tank of alge the night prior to the first clown passing

Don't use cupramine on the display tank. It will get in the rock and is lethal to invertebrates and corals.
Medications are all best used in a quarantine tank.

And sorry I'm still new so I'm not sure if I can tag ppl to give them a direct answer. Scott I am using a fluval 306 canster filter but will be switching to a sump in the next month

@w1ngs that's what I was told from the lfs so we held off but read about prazipro and used that instead and 3 days after doing the dips and the prazi the 3 remaining fish look 1000 times better and are out and kinda eating again

Welcome to r2r!! Try adding a powerhead if u can to increase oxygen in ur tank.

I actually just did and have it on the opposite side of the tank pointed towards the output hose

A little hard to see but its creating a ton more commotion at the top of the tank now

So here's my guess on what happened.

1. the fish were infected when you got them and they weren't treated in QT.
2. Red slime remover reduced the oxygen in the water.
3. canister filters and glass lids limit the water oxygenation, they were already suffocating slowly after the red slime remover and it may not have been able to recover fast enough, due to lack of surface agitation.
4. The parasites multiplied and that was it, they couldn't breathe anymore.

API test kits are notoriously bad. Might want too look into different kits. Sorry if I missed it but how long has the tank been up and running?

Ok, that's kinda what I was thinking but honestly have no idea since I just started about 11 months ago, and dont have that much experience with this kinda stuff yet. thank you everyone for the really quick replys, one last question, will the prazipro kill the remaining parasites? If there is still any

Did you notice any stringy white poop from the fish before they died?

If it's flukes, then yes two doses, about 5 days apart should take care of it.
Make sure you're not running any carbon in the filter when medicating.

I am sorry for your loss. Is there any chance that the canister filter did not have power for an hour or two at some point in the 24 hours prior to the fish loss?
