So after breaking down my 220 and selling everything but my livestock and rock I bought a 60 gallon cube. Finally today it's running! It's been about 2-3 months I've been getting everything needed to put this baby together.

I was not happy with the stand (it was to low) and that was a big issue with my other tank. All in all the stand will contain 3 tanks. The 60 cube w/ 20 gallon sump , a QT tank and a 40 gallon breeder frag tank. The stand will be about 8'x2.6'' and go from floor to ceiling. I've only built the stand structure for the 60. The tank is about 32'' off the floor and will have a cabinet built in the rear of the tank for storage and equipment. There is also a ''baby gate'' pocket door I'm building into it to keep the title one in and the dogs out. More info to come... Here's some pics. ( and don't mind the Christmas paper, my wife decorated it, lol)

All full and rock in. The rock work is not quite done yet. The tank is set up peninsula style and will be viewable from 3 sides.

Should be a nice little tank. I think 60 is a good size. Pay attention to exactly how much water you add it will help you when properly dosing anything in the future. It will be less than 60 looks like it will be 50 to 55 gallons of total water

I've had all of my coral in my 40 breeder so pending some testing. I'm planning on moving some things over if all checks out. I don't think it will cycle again but things happen. This tank will contain mostly zoas and palys, ricordia, yumas, LPS, and a few sps. I checked for ammonia and nitrite today but nothing showing as of now. We will see... Also getting a new camera in a couple of days so bye bye iPhone pics!!

Some updates: built a part of the canopy so I could hang the light. Coming together slowly but we will get there. Still not sure what I'm going to do with the top of the rock that in the middle of the tank but here's some iPhone pics!

So I'm sitting in a very boring NFIP training seminar so I thought I would do an update. Everything has been up and running for about a month or so now and things are going great and I'm very happy with everything. I have all corals moved over and acclimating to my new LED lighting. I was very surprised that a few things started to bleach a little being that I ran MH lighting before. I was very skeptical about switching from MH to LED but to be honest I'm very happy I did. The look of LED in my opinion is second to none. We will see how the growth rate and the health of the corals goes in time. Also I will be adding to the stand my 40g breeder frag tank that will be a separate system from the 60g cube. I just got the 40g drilled for the drainage only and will post some pics as its completed.

Now back to the 60, all tests have been great with some dosing has been needed. Current parameters are and also where I strive to keep them:

Sal: 1.025
Alk: 8.7-9 DKH
CAL: 450ppm
Mag: 1380-1400 ppm
Temp: 78

All corals seem to be happy at these levels which are a little higher than I use to keep them at but I switched to ESV salt and that's what it mixes at so Ive been happy with those levels. I've added my banggai cardinal and a green clown goby from one of my other tanks and both seam to be happy. I still have a orbic and PJ cardinals and my green Cromis to add to the tank, just waiting a couple of weeks. All the rest of my other fish will be added to the frag tank. So all in all I'm happy with how everything has been running. The tank makes little to no noise and the new light has helped with my electric bill too! I will get some pics up as soon as I can. Need a course on how to take good pics with a good camera, lol
