I was going to open a ticket with neptune but they are slow to respond and need to try and figure this out if possible before going on vacation. I have installed a backup return pump on my tank and it is a hot standby, plumbed in with the primary pump. I want to see if possible to create two situation that happens in order to kick pump on using apex. Meaning that I have a liquid level meter and also an optical sensor setup in sump. normal operation and level of water in sump is around 8.2". I want to set it up so my return pump kicks on when level is 12 (around the level it is when pump is off) and optical sensor is closed. Something like this I really need to make sure first pump is not pushing water before turning on backup. Let me know if anyone has done anything like this before. Thanks

Sounds like a flow meter on your primary is the best and easiest option. Maybe using the power draw to confirm if the pump is running or not would be the next best option.

You could also use virtual outlets in the apex and set it to trigger one action and then use that result to trigger turning the pump off.
