You need more light

You say this tank has been up and running for 3 years

On that light alone?

Sounds like they slowly starved

You don’t have to feed torch if they are getting sufficient par. If par is low they will need to be target fed meaty foods regularly

If you had a water issue they wouldn’t make it 6 months

At least

I'm still scratching my head on 3 years

How

Tank has been running 3 years. The corals almost all look like frags on plugs. If they were there for three years we would have encrusted colonies.

I see a few multi head hammer, but could have come like that, or could be directly under the light

Do you target feed them?
Sometimes, but not as often as I should. I feed the tank 4 times/day with frozen and Pellets/flakes/reef caviar etc.

What ate you target feeding your Torches??, and how often?

I dose also, TM All4Reef, Red Sea Trace Elements etc..

My advice would be to not spend money on coral for the left but instead to buy a second aI prime

Everybody, comedy f'reaking gold. Here.!!.:beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes::beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes::beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes::beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes::winking-face-with-tongue::winking-face-with-tongue:

People, I started out in Freshwater over 20 years ago. After many years of research and studies, and also as an avid Snorkeler and diver in Bonaire, Roatan, Grand Cayman etc...I finally decided to start a Saltwater Tank. I started cheap, but that wasn't even cheap...lol, I lost a lot, had growing pains etc, all the algae, aiptasia,,bubble algae, you name it. But after the 1.5 year mark things started to get better.

I started with the Fluval Marine strip light, then had a Chinese Black Box for added light, but the controller/timer was basically Mandarin...lol...so I got the AI Prime 16hd about 1 year ago, and it has helped immensely!

I will take and show you all pics of my hammer garden with natural light tomorrow, it's not as bad as you all say, and yes most have been grown out from frags, lots of corals doing great.

I will take it under good advice though, that i should immediately, if not sooner upgrade the light situation, before I invest in more corals ...good Lort!!

@Solo McReefer shout out to the Princess Bride!! GOAT!!!

They need to be directly target fed, 3x a week. Meaty food like mysis, or cubes that have a variety mixed. Flakes should be soaked in Restor to add aminos and proteins.

Regular feedings, on a schedule so they have time to digest in between feedings.

I broadcast feed my tank a lot and many times some torches don’t catch any.

Turn off the flow completely, target feed each head with a baster, give them 15-20 min to pull in the food before turning pumps back on

If you want to try again dm me I’ll give you a good torch connection with nice pieces for good prices

My first head scratch was "why is the tank all red?"

Maybe that's coming from the neon light

Dunno. Too many questions for me. I'll let someone else sleuth this one out

Pics from around 9:45 am , just after lights start going, not small plug colonies, all hammers and some frogs, grown out over time, a few small ones yes, those are rescues from my Nephews 13.5 Evo Tank.

not everything has been in the tank for 3 years...good lort..folks! Only Green Hammer in center was an OG survivor from 2022 Reefpalooza., but most other stuff has been a year or 1.5 years and growing and doing just fine.

In all serious though, Not for my tank, as the location of tank doesn't bother us in regards to light overspending...but the Nephews 13.5 Evo, definitely needs it. It's his next purchase...you can see in this Pic, massive light explosion all over the place.
