So here is my attempt at hnsa (habitat negative space aquascaping. It is going into a 425xl. The pvc is the tank border minus the 2 inches off all sides already so if any parts come right up to the pvc that is not the wall of the tank. That is the 2 inch border edge. Let me know what you guys think. There will be 1 to 1.5 inches of sand in the tank. Going with Fiji pink. The large structures and the rock on the far far right will be at the glass. The other small pieces of rock will be on top of the sand bed. Those are rocks that have been glued together to add some crevices for crustaceans and things like that.
nothjng is 100 percent complete yet. Still a lot of emarco needed to bind it all together permanently and then cover the emarco with sand to hide my joints. What do you guys think?
I’m hoping for plenty of fish safe space and coral placement ability. I want a mixed reef with at least a few sps.
That is pretty cool looking.

Constructive criticism welcomed. 125g 72.5" x 18.5" x 23.375"
scapefront.jpg
Assuming the 18.5" is height, you might want the stacks lower. Otherwise, you won't be able to mount coral on top of the top rocks layer. When you subtract 2" from the top (effective waterline) and another 5/8ths or so from the bottom glass panel... max rock height should be around 11-12 inches.

Otherwise I really like your arches & tunnels, and the asymmetry.

Howdy folks,

I have a 32 gallon biocube, my first saltwater tank so I'm doing this out of order. (Live and learn :) )
These are the front, right and left views.
I kinda like it, not sure I love it. I have tunnels but no caves, so I wonder about that. I went a little overboard with the stax mortar, too. The other is live rock from KP Aquatics (yay, great stuff!!!) with some fun plant life.
I only plan for a few fish, so I'm hoping this will work.
Any suggestions?

Thanks,
JJ

Hey everyone!
I'm slowly making progress on my first ever aquascape, been chiseling/glueing all day lol. Do any glaring problems jump out to you guys? I was thinking I may run into flow issues in the middle and should remove some rock underneath in the back/sides to make more of an open arch. This is for a 25 lagoon with an mp10 for flow. I have plenty of room on all sides, this cardboard is much smaller than the actual tank floor plan. Excuse the quick crappy pics my hands are covered in glue (note to self, buy gloves).

I am a fan of what you have there. Every scape will have some dead spots, almost unavoidable.

Looks really cool, but I share your concern about height. The "consensus" is measure water line down to the glass. Max height should be below 2/3rds mark. Some insist on 1/2 the height if you intend to keep staghorn.

Thank you. Do you think if I redid the right side with the highest point and lowered it that would be enough ? I’m mainly worried about the right side highest point not being able to fit anything there sps related.

Agreed. I think the left side is OK and bringing down the right side will do.

You have some room on the left side (upper) to keep that glass clean?

Cool I think that will be my plan then instead of redoing it all. And yes there’s one point where it will be a little tough to get but I’ll use a different tool for that area.

Hey I’m new to the whole aquascaping thing and I wonder if I could get some help. I just seem to have a wall look and I hate that I want coves and caves and places to put corals. I used to have just a pile of round rocks until I broke them into pieces but I still do not like it. Also I can’t seem to get any glue to hold to it what glue would you recommend!!
