To me that set up and length in the picture could have gone with two ap9x lights and 4 t5 lamps, I like to have more lights and turning them down instead of getting one large light, and i think corals love t5 lighting.
nice... seems like a lot of light for the 50 lagoon, no?

Well yeah that would be, thats a 48" fixture in the picture, but one ap9x and the t5 fixture wouldn't be, like I said I use a 24" one with a single ap9x with a blue reefbrite on a 48g.

I dont know what you consider a lot of light but it could be and it could not be depending how it's implicated, just putting it out there for an option.

Cool - what are differences of those two pics? One is only white channels and the other only blues?

Also - how is the MP10? I read that the 10mm glass on the IM 50 is just over spec for them. I'm curious if you've had any trouble with the two sides staying coupled.

Also I like the start of your scape.

Thanks

Yep blues and whites. I haven't had an issue with the MP10. It's not the strongest hold but with the cord out the top and the cord-holding brackets, it's fine. Now I don't have any fish in there yet or anything to bump it so not sure. I'm actually going to purchase another one for another side once I get corals.

I have the xr30 g6's on a new tank build and wow, talk about spread! I have them 12" above the IM 200 Peninsula which is 30" wide and the spill into the room has me making reflective shades. I have g4's on a four year old tank love them but what a difference to the 6's... One is all you would need I imagine.
