So I got a beautiful new Derasa clam today... covered in a few pests. Aptaisa, vermited... and some friendly isopods and such.

Couple of things about our cleaning regiment:
We QT everything regardless of what it is...
We clean all livestock as advised... scrub, razor blade, glue whatever needs to be done to get the job done.. etc.
I always wear gloves... been stung too many times by bristle worms

So what's the problem? After cleaning off the two small aptasia I used the gloves to wipe off the blade, aptasia guts remaining on the glove. So the clam is still acclimating, I decided to go check on the DT... and what do I do I stick the glove with the guts on it into the sump not thinking about what I just did. So the big question is: Did I just contaminate my DT with aptaisa? It's bugging the crap out of me and I'm having a mini meltdown over it... Need some community support, thoughts.

I will mention that I preemptively order some peppermint shrimp and am thinking of ordering some apt eating nudi's just in case.

Thanks all for your support/advice in advance!

That is not making me feel confident ;)
I superglued, epoxied and topped with a rubble rock for 4 aiptasia today. I still have 3 more and 2 are in my base piece that nearly covered in sand. I can’t reach them without taking the rock out. I may be overreacting because it’s fresh in my mind.

Okay I'm feeling a little better... Your doing exactly what I would do.

I should start a business. rentmycbb.com ;)
I’ve actually thought of asking one of the pre-quarantine individuals if they would condition a copperband to eat them and then sell me the fish.

I have had a few CBB. Some dont care, some only eat them and nothing else. More recently, somehow aiptasia got back into my tank. My puffer was helping a bit but not enough. Went to my local store and asked to see the CBB eat mysis, which is usually the problem right.
Well this guy started by tearing apart every aiptasia, from the tiny ones to the 2 inches ones. Like candies .
After a week, all gone. He is patrolling the rocks 12 hours a day. Best of all, he eats frozen food like a pig as well.
My point is, it's really about luck, I dont know if you can train them.

That's not a bad idea, I'd hate to think of what that fish would cost, not to mention the wait time. Should throw this into the thread that had the person growing out aptasia on purpose. Seeing a business model and a large market.

You may have released spores and you will know if that occurred in time

Ya that was exactly my thoughts... as soon as I lifted a clean glove out of the water I knew what I'd done. Foolish mistake...

File fish eradicated all aptasia from my tank in a day. Good thing about them is they devour frozen my sis too, bad thing is if they’re bored they will nip coral.
