Made In Japan was one of my favorite 8 track/vinyl lp's back in the day. love the song Lazy.

played guitar in rock band through out high school. got in to the whole KISS theatric stuff. flash pans using black rifle powder. how we as teenagers came in possession of gun powder I don't remember. one night, at a gig, one of the pans didn't go off so my little brother (sound guy and theatrical tech) was working on it while the band was in the middle of Purples Space Truckin'. someone threw the switch while he was working on it and it went off in his face. sent him off to the ER with a buddy, because hey the show must go on? called mom and dad to go to the ER. they were none to happy when I got home later. he looked like a geisha with the white painted face from the burn cream. eye lashes gone.

side note: always thought Blackmore was a Fender Strat exclusive player.
side note 2: what was up with that crowd? they look comatose.

Stuff, I have watched the pink streak wrasse in the display today for a few hours, not seen it in the display for about a month. :)

You know those are the little gifts that surprise you. I have a yellow Assessor that is similar. It will move about the tank, find a cave, and stay there for a bit. It will then pop out so that I know it is there and still alive then I won't see it for a month or so. Just saw him/her this morning. I'm like Hey! There you are. Swims out to mid tank, turns around and swims away back to the darker area of the tank.

I would love one, but you can’t find them here :(

They had two in when I went to pick it up, ordered for me and I took the bigger one which is very unlike me but it was going in the twins, as soon as I added it and started to watch it settle I called the shop and reserved the small one for the puddle. :)

"So how epic was the fail this morning Simon?" (No harm or damage.)
I was watching the engineer goby for about 20 minutes on and off after breakfast and it swam right out into the display, apart from being jaw dropped I slowly reached for the camera, memory card in laptop, card inserted, manual focus only lens on, camera on as it slowly backed back into the scape!
What I can tell you is that it is about a 12" fish now! ;)

Lens swapped camera on standby.

The pink streak has been in the display again this morning, got this, now to figure out who chewed it! ;Shifty

Your photos are gorgeous. What camera/lens are you using?

Thanks, Nikon 5600, it has the best pivot screen, my eyesight is rubbish but I can work with the screen, that was with a Tamron 90 macro, I also use a Nikon 40 macro as my general purpose lens and have a Nikon 16 - 35 zoom which is a superb lens but the auto focus doesn't work so that is for coral pics and fts shots.

Are you using the “auto” setting, letting the camera choose the settings ( aperture, ISO, etc.), or just the auto focus? Either way, your getting great shots. I have a Canon 60D with a 100mm macro (heavy combo). My MS is affecting my ability to hold the weight of both, so I’m having to use a tripod. Unfortunately, my fish don’t like to hold a pose while I get it set up :p

Set the tripod up with the camera on and leave it in place, the fish will get used to it being there, no idea about Canons, does it have a remote release, that help apparently, absolutely 100% square and level for the pic, it narrows down the view of things but angle = distortion of the image, if I shoot coral the tip of the lens is flat square on touching the glass.

Never thought of leaving it set up. The tang is the most difficult to catch..big black thing freaks him out. Think I’ll go set that up :)

Below the scopas would be my green cabbage, mithrax suspected, face planted on the sand.
Right next to the scopas is the pink streak wrasse, it is edgy as it quite often goes under the cabbage!
... where the cabbage lives is right next to the fff's "safe spot", I hate messing around on the shelf.
